What happened to Dr. Cranky ? -
Being a model guy I have all the models I can handle. I know what i like, I usually get what I want.My stash is quite large. Comes a time when ask, (Fathers day, birthday, anniversary, etc.) what do you want? I have ask for a model knowing full well my loved ones would have absolutely no idea which one to get. Also, the ones I would want being made from unobtainium. However I am always curious, just what would they get. Through all these years, I'm going past 70 this year, I have only received two kits as presents. The first , (Monogram '40 Ford pick up which I already had several and even built a few.) from my oldest nephew. The second, for Christmas a few years ago from my ( loving ? ) daughter. A reissue AMT Piranha . First hint should have been when the opening frenzy came to a sudden stop and all eyes were on me. " Do you have that one?" Big stash, not really sure and being polite, " No, I don't think so." Then they all burst into laughter." I got it from the big pile in your room"

Joining Uncle Sams Navy and moving to Okinawa right when the 240Z came out in 1970 I was surprised by two things, one, the Japanese cars had dashboards marked in english. I was expecting to see Japanese characters '. Second were all the traditional Japanese car names, Fairlady among them, Sunny, President Crown, -

There have been a few Grand Sport Corvette kits. Those last two being Testors Diecast kits, still pretty good. -

Thanks Mike for the appreciation and recognition. The rest of you too. Rob you are correct, It just seems the board gets bogged down at times and needs a little pick me up. I try to keep things relevant and interesting as well as model related. Thanks to everyone again. -
These were good for about 20 minutes, that's when all the water evaporated, then it was time to pull over and fill it up again. You have to pull over because the fill hole is on the outside. You also need someone to pull the cord inside to rotate the straw cone through the water ever so often, slowly, mind you, or you're gonna get wet. Yep, it keep you cool , for awhile.
