  1. Very sharp build. That looks awesome!!
  2. Thanks for the kind comments everyone. It is very much appreciated!!
  3. That's Crazy nice Jim. Seriously that's top notch!!
  4. Hello All. This is the Lindberg kit built mostly box stock. Its a decent kit that builds up pretty well. with just a few problems, one of which is the hood doesn't fit in the front very well so the chrome trim on the hood doesn't line up with the trim on the front fenders. Also the stance is a little low in the rear and makes it appear a little like a 1:1 without an engine. Plus there were a couple things I screwed up, like forgetting to install the rear view mirror and the SS decal on the steering wheel. I probably could have spent a little more time with it and fixed some things, but overall I'm pretty happy with it. Thanks for looking and comments are always welcome.
  5. That is absolutely Gorgeous!!! Beautiful paint.
  6. BEEautiful build right there!!
  7. Thanks Mercelo! The biggest problem I had with it was the fit of the windshield. But that was after I had broken the driver side pillar. If you look closely at some of the pics you can see a pretty sizeable gap at the left top. Again thanks for the kind comments.

    72 GTO..

I really like the looks of this!! Nice build.
  9. Thanks everyone for the kind words. I really think this build looks better in pictures than it does in person. But again thanks for the positive feedback.
  10. A real beauty in black!!

    68 Dart

Very nice. Looks mean and ready to go. Really like the engine detailing!!
  12. Good point. How much paint is wasted out of a can? 95%? I guess I can live with throwing away half my BMF
  13. Finished this one a month or so ago. Its the 2nd finished build out of the AMT '69 Muscle Car SuperSet. Finished the Barracuda, and still working on the Torino. This one was a bit of a challenge, I broke the drivers A pillar, plus I could not get the windshield to fit properly. But came out ok I think. The main problem I had was the hood decal. Could not get it to lay down right where it curves down over the nose. Tried and tried and finally ended up ruining the decal. So I spent a couple of hours mixing paint to try and match the color and painted the stripe on the hood. I think I got the color pretty close, but the black pin striping around it is a bit wider than it should be but that's what I had on hand at the time. Ok enough rambling, on to the pics. As always thanks for looking and comments are more than welcome.
  14. Beautiful build. Love the color, and it looks great with the vinyl top. Well done!!
  15. I'm just about done with my first sheet of BMF and ordered some more today. But I got to thinking about how much of that sheet ended up in the trash. I know it's the nature of the product and there's really no way around it, but I bet about 1/3 of it got thrown out. Maybe more.
  16. Thanks for the advice John. I'll try that the next time I plan on using that top coat. Thanks Kevin.
  17. Got this kit in my stash and on my to do list. I really like your build. Looks great!!
  18. Love this Vette. Looks good with those wheels and that paint is BAD A**
  19. Yeah you're right Jay. The top coat (testors 1605t transparent custom red) is a little tricky to work with, for me anyway. It goes on pretty thick and runs easily(bad combination). Plus I think the base coat was a hair too heavy as well. I've used the transparent blue as well and it goes on pretty much the same way. I do like the different shades you can get depending on the base coat color you use under it. Here is a sample of the transparent blue over Krylon True Blue
  20. Thanks again everyone for the kind comments and feedback. Dang not sure how that got by me and a few car guys I showed it to before posting it on here Now I have to decide whether its going to bug me enough to fix it. Thanks Ted
  21. Thanks for the kind comments guys, I really appreciate them. Thanks Kenny. That was the original plan, but I screwed up the wires so I removed them and put in the kit distributor. I learned from my mistake and I'll hopefully get it right next time. The color is a base coat of Krylon cherry red #52101 with a top coat of Testors gloss custom red #1605. The Testors top coat darkened the base coat to that final color, which is actually darker than I was going for but in the end i really liked how it turned out. BTW the color darkens as it cures. When I first put it down it was more the color I was going for.
