I wish I never threw any out and now will not,I most likely damaged them taking them apart for a rebuild and thought I could never fix them but would try now. -
I was talking to a few older modelers a couple years ago and mentioned I wanted to build the rear version of a model and got a funny look, one told me we only build models and not real cars and I almost said I think its about time you come out of the basement and quit playing with toys but walked away.

Found a Monogram 4x4 chassis in stock but the frame has a dip in the middle and can be see sticking lower then the body and I do not like that but if I can find a 2wd front suspension I could take the rear suspension from the Monogram frame and make a frame, there is a guy locally who has parts and will see what he has next Saturday and go from there.

I like original interiors with some modifications, the interior in my 55 is the way it came from the factory and I like that style and done something similar in my 37 Chevy p/u but with the pleats going another direction..
-
I Googeled interior colors and did not see many original,I would like to go original on this one and wondering also what color the dash would be. My 55 Ford convertible has the dash painted a color that does not really match the interior or outside and has more blue in it so could the 49 be that way too, here is the car and the dash and interior.

Now to figure out the interior color.

AMT F350 restoration
junkyardjeff replied to junkyardjeff's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
I bought a 77 to get the 460,it did not have the wide rear rims and the frame was weak but if it was nicer it would not have gotten parted out. -
I am going to see if I can get something close to that Miami Cream and I pushed a couple builds back since I wanted to build this since first seing that picture a couple years ago

AMT F350 restoration
junkyardjeff replied to junkyardjeff's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
I had that six and it needed a home and put a truck 4 speed behind it and I like strangely optioned vehicles. Last summer I bought a 65 mercury Montclair breezeway sedan that had a 3 speed with o/d with a/c and delayed wipers. -
Just picked it up today, going to build it like in this 50s picture and will have a Y block under the hood.
