  1. While taking mine apart to restore I broke the body,I think its getting brittle so I was wondering if there were any other 57 wagon bodies made in resin for that chassis. If I do fix it I am going to glue the doors and tailgate shut to stiffen the body.
  2. I took one I built back in the 70s and made it a beater and used a FE with a C-6 trans most likely from the 74ish F350 and it fit just fine.
  3. I found 8 of those 4 lug magnum 500 wheels and did some digging and I think I have some tires.
  4. My current restoration is a AMT 34 Ford p/u that I am making into a big truck, the cab and hood are from one I built 40 plus years ago and the rest of it are parts from ebay and other sources.
  5. Do not get me wrong I do enjoy new builds but there is something about bringing one back from the dead that I like alot, most are not anywhere close to where it was built the first time but I like breathing new life back in them and putting them back on the shelf where they belong and not used for parts.
  6. Here is a picture of what it is,this is the nice original I got off ebay a couple years ago. The one I am working on is the one I got back in the early 70s and had to strip layers of paint off of it and the front suspension and original wheels are long gone.
  7. I got this pinto that is more of a toy that I think came in laundry detergent boxes back in the early 70s that I am going to restore that looks to be 1/25 scale, what came on it were kind of cheesy and long gone but would like to find a set of aluminum slots so where could I find them or any decent looking 13 inch wheels and tires.
  8. Looks good and its been about 30 years since I last built one so time to do it.
  9. I did not know a stock version was made, the ones I built came with non stock tires and rims and if I done another would glue the doors shut.
  10. The old MPC spirit of 57 has one that does not lok too bad and I have a extra.
  11. I did not like the change to the rear window opening and tail lights on the hotrod version,to me its hard to beat a 40 the way it came from the factory.
  12. I put the chassis from the hotrod version on a stock body for kind of a restomod look.
  13. I am building the 64 dodge 2 door sedan and the weird side of me wants to build it having a 3 on the tree with o/d,I do have a a 3 speed o/d trans from a unknown kit and just need to find a shifter to add to the column. Going to use the dual quad 413 from the 49 Merc kit to power it,I like strangely optioned cars.
  14. The tank came from another AMT 32,its not going to be perfect but looks much better to me.
  15. This is a kit I that I am piecing togather, picked up a built one with a junk chassis and then came up with a unbuilt chassis but damaged the body trying to get the windows out so I picked up a new body and its coming togather. Using the 413 from the AMT 49 merc kit for the engine.
  16. Starting to look more like a 32.
  17. I have no idea if was available in 34 but I had the red in stock so it went on.
  18. I was going to build a dump bed but that would take too long so it will be a flat bed
  19. I do not know if I am going to buy incomplete current kits anymore, using a AMT 34 Ford p/u as the base for a big truck and I probably have more in it then just buying one. Bought a partial 60s version then started buying parts off ebay that is was missing and had to get more parts tonight.
  20. I hope its airbags that lower it to load,I had two quads in the back of my half tons and no squat anywhere near this. Mine were 70s half tons
  21. It looks like it does not have much payload capacity, its really squatting in the rear with that 4 wheeler in it.
  22. The 54 Fords in Canada still had the flathead.
  23. While getting parts at my local old junkyard I found this 41-6 Chevy truck with a dump bed and since I want to add a dump bed to a 34 Ford big truck I am building I am going to see how close i can duplicate it,I am going to make it a little longer since the 34 has a longer wheelbase and not sure if I am going to put the part that goes over the cab.
