  1. Here is what it looks like now
  2. Too late now but will have to remember that one if I want to build another.
  3. The paint is about off so time to think about what color to paint it.
  4. I would like to put this one back to original if I can,it was missing the engine and suspension when I got it and do have the correct suspension.
  5. I think I got the paint too thick and it started to crack,I was painting it in a high moisture area and had to repaint it a few times but it is now down to bare plastic so I can start over. I really wanted to find a 235 six to put in it but did not want to wait to find one so it was painted to look like it had the cheaper V8.
  6. Just starting the restoration of one that I got back in 74 that was incomplete and would like to put it back the way it came.
  7. I picked this up along with some other models and parts out of a car in a junkyard north of Richmond Indiana back in the fall of 74,it was built but not painted but was missing the suspension, engine and hood. I cobbled up some suspension and put a engine in it and brush painted it with some 60s Pactra paint that I got from my uncle and probably still have the bottle,a few years ago I picked up a new chassis and interior along with a correct resin hood so the time is right to start on it but need to find the correct engine. It and a few tires are all I have left from what I got back in 74 and can not believe its been 46 years ago since I got it.
  8. I had issues with the paint and it finally came off after soaking for months so its back on.
  9. I remember seeing them and must have started making them after I left the Chevy dealer, had a few of the normal looking ones come in but not that one. Must have been the heavier duty version.
  10. Yes I know some are being made now but would have liked to seen more 2 door sedans made years ago.
  11. I wish they would have made the base models, instead of a Galaxie 500 they could have made the Custom and a Biscayne instead of the Impalas. And they all seemed to have big blocks where I would have like to build one with a small block or even a six just to be different,I know some of the base models are available in resin but sometimes those are more then I can spend and then have to get a kit for the donor parts.
  12. On this MPC the seats are molded in the tub so it would not be easy to change.
  13. I found a big block from a 1970 to 72 Chevelle that I will be using.
  14. After second thought since it has that deluxe interior I am going to make it a big block 4 speed if I can find a stock big block.
  15. Thanks to a member on here for a hood and tailgate I can start on the restore,I ordered some 8 lug rims and tires from Scenes unlimited so its going to be a 3/4 ton. Going to use the six from the 62 Chevy II after some modifications and hope to get a truck 4 speed, was hoping to put a bench seat in it but the seats are molded into the interior tub since I would like it to be a cheap truck. Chassis is very basic so might have to come up with another to make it a 3/4 ton.
  16. The early 70s MPC Chevy truck I have has a fancy interior with buckets and console, since I want to rebuild it as a basic truck was there ever one made with a bench seat. I looked at my GMC shortbed and it also has buckets but no console.
  17. I might try to find a parts Blazer but I am planning on using the six from the 62 Chevy II so it will look like it has a 250,this is going to be a cheap truck and will look into that Olson brothers trans.
  18. I am going to take the 71ish MPC Chevy step side long bed and make it a 3/4 ton but I want a truck 4 speed for it so was there ever a kit that had one or are there any made in resin.
  19. All new brakes and has about 80 miles on it so far,the o/d is not working and most likely electrical since it will go in free wheeling with the cable pushed in but no o/d.
  20. I have the chassis and interior from that 59 kit and just need to get the glass.
  21. It will most likely be when it gets colder before I start on it,I still need to get windows for it.
  22. Parts arrived today so the build will start soon.
