Hi Guys, I picked up (er, no pun intended) Revell's 1929 Ford Model A pick up 3 'n 1 kit a couple of weeks and am getting set to start it. What type of engine is in the kit? I know it's an inline four cylinder, but that's about all (need it to do a Google search for references). Thanks for any help/advice in advance. Cheers, Albert

There is a small club called Great Lakes Scale Modelers based in Traverse City (I was a member from 1994 until last year). When you get to Traverse City and get set up, stop in the local hobby shop (Trains & Things Hobbies on Front Street) and they'll have contact info for the P.I.C. of the club. Cheers, Albert

That is killer! I don't think I have ever seen a blue take on Eddie's 'Frankenstrat' scheme. I also dig the flame job on the microphone. I have a 1990 Peavey Tracer II that needs a new finish, now I know who to contact. Cheers, Albert -

That is a very cool take on 'The Eliminator'. Billy Gibbons would approve I'm sure. Cheers, Albert

Hi Randy, That is an excellent whiffer! The color combo looks great and I really dig the aggressive look of the front end and hood. Sweet job! Cheers, Albert

Wow, that looks great! Love the color. I seen that kit at Hobby Lobby this weekend and was going to get it but put it back (now I wish I wouldn't have). Cheers, Albert

Your Very First Real Car
Albert Moore replied to FujimiLover's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
My first real car was a 1982 Shuv-ette; Typical teenagers first car. Bought it for $500 from a dude who was just looking to get rid of it. Note The Simpsons figurines on the dash board and the Bart Simpson suction cup doll in the quarter window. Also had a pimpin' speaker box in the back (made from the finest chipboard and staples). This is what the better half and I are tinkering with these days, our 1969 Plymouth Fury II- Cheers, Albert -
Hey Gang, While perusing through my kit stash for a possible next project, I found another set of tires that will fit the 20" rims in the Revell Shelby GT500KR kit without modifying the rims. The Revell 1998 Firebird Ram Air 2 'n 1 kit (#85-2159) comes with a larger set of rims and tires to use in place of the stock wheels if one so desires. Those tires fit the KR rims perfectly; Stock tire and rim on the left, tire from the '98 Firebird Ram Air kit on the right- Hope this helps. Cheers, Albert

This is Revell's 1/24th scale 1998 Ford Taurus kit w/ Wetworks decals. My daughter was heavily into the Powerpuff Girls at the time, which provided the inspiration to build this. The model was built mostly OOB, but a few mods were made. Evergreen rod was used to update the roll cage to 1998 specs. A piece of aluminum tubing was inserted into the left-rear corner of the TV panel for the fuel overflow pipe. Sheet styrene was added to extend the front airdam, and to add side skirts. A cold air box was added under the hood (per 1997 rules) plus, one-sided flat exhaust pipes were used instead of the outdated dual tubular type that came with the kit. New quarter windows were made from sheet acetate, then decal strips applied to represent bracing. All suspension points were modified to lower the stance and to bring the wheels under the body. Detail Master hood pins were added as final touch. The finish is Model Master Hot Magenta, while the roll cage is MM Canadian Voodoo Gray. The headlight decals, grilles, dzus fasteners, brake-duct vents, and wheel markings are from a Slixx Stock Car Goodies sheet. Cheers, Albert

Hi Marty, Thanks for the club/restoration sites suggestion, I never thought of adding "restoration" to my search criteria! I plan on adding a vinyl roof to my build, along with some other extra goodies. In fact I was just testing to see if the five-spoke rims and tires from the Revell '32 Ford three-window coupe will adapt to the wheel backs from the Camaro, they fit like a charm! I'll be sure to post my progress in the 'On The Workbench' forum. Thanks again for the help! Cheers, Albert

Hi Guys, Are there any online reference sites for the 69 Camaro? I've done a Google search and I basically get sites for cars that are available for sale. I'm mainly looking for color/finish references for the chassis, drive train, suspension components, and interior photos. Thanks for any assistance. Cheers, Albert
