  1. Beautiful build of one of my favorite cars. I had a '61 Fairlane in HS. The only vehicle I truly regret ever selling.
  2. Beautiful work!
  3. That hit had to hurt! One of the more realistic "crashed" builds I've ever seen.
  4. These can't be their first builds. There isn't any body's painted in multiple layers of Testors enamel using a brush, no tube and a half of glue per kit, no glue finger prints on the kit glass, etc... They are doing great work and thank you for taking the time to get them interested in doing so.
  5. Never paid much attention to sci-fi builds, but this has opened my eyes. Great imagination and execution.
  6. That's one hook I wouldn't mind showing up when I was broke!
  7. The level of detail is amazing. Can't wait to see how this evolves from here.
  8. I have one of these sitting in limbo. I'll be watching this for inspiration.
  9. You are correct.
  10. Th The wheels are from Pegasus Hobbies. I don't remember the name of the wheel though. They were an all chrome wheel that I painted the center gunmetal grey.
  11. Looks like a great start. Love the drivetrain choice.
  12. That's good news. I knew someone was offering them on evil bay a while ago, I didn't know Modelhaus was offering them. I'm sure their offering will be a lot better quality than the original kit version.
  13. Bill, a substitute for Ambroid Pro Weld is Methyl ethyl ketone (MEK). It is the active ingredient in Pro Weld and works great for bonding plastics. You can find it in most hardware stores. Just don't throw out the Pro Weld bottle as the MEK only comes in quart or gallon containers and it is easier to transfer some into the old bottle for use.
  14. I agree it would look better with the floor raised, but at this point I'm just going to leave it as is. I may tweek the ride height a little, but nothing drastic, I just want to see this one finished.
  15. Its NOT an AAR Cuda. I am not a fan of all the clone cars running around with the owners trying to pass them off as the real thing. The final car will be my interpretation of a Pro Touring clone of an AAR, but because it is a clone it is NOT an AAR, thus the name AAR NOT!
  16. Unfortunately the Rovers were pretty much the same everywhere. The benefit they have overseas is that you can get parts and there are people that know how to work on them. Looking forward to see this one come together.
  17. Excellent work.
  18. Ask and you shall receive. From my research they were only issued in this kit. Hosted on Fotki
  19. Very nicely done!
  20. You've already blown me away with the details. Looking forward to seeing this come together.
  21. I actually like the way the wheels sit in the wheel openings, I just wish the whole thing was lower over all. I think that lowering it any more will throw the wheel placement off. Overall I'm happy with where it sits now.
  22. Hosted on Fotki Body sat up too high and wheel base was too short. Hosted on Fotki No turning back! Hosted on Fotki Added 24 scale inches to the chassis. Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Where we sit now. The whole build has been a case of one step forward, trip fall and roll three steps back. I'm determined to finish this one now. Updates as progress continues.
  23. Hosted on Fotki BB Chevy from the AMT '57 Vette Gasser kit. Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki A little detailing. Added scratch built linkage, fuel lines, weird dist. and coil, water temp sending unit, electric water pump, dip sticks, etc...
