That resinous gook is creosote. Clean the chimney well once a year and it shouldn't be a problem. But if you let the creosote build up for a couple of years, you'd better stock up on hot chocolate, hot dogs, and marshmallows. Have one hot fire in the fireplace/stove and . . . *poof* . . . you'll be having the fire department over. Firemen like hot chocolate, hot dogs, and marshmallows roasted over the open fire (even if it's your chimney and roof).

Printer ink cartridges. Don't get me re-started. For the past few years, I've had an Epson wireless all-in-one printer. For the last couple of years, I've been buying ink cartridges at Cartridge World for considerably less than "geniune" Epson cartridges. The CW cartridges cost about 1/3 less than the Epsons. It was a big savings and I never experienced any quality issues. A couple of weeks ago, Epson pushed a software "update" to my computer overnight . . . to update my printer driver. Now, my printer refuses to work unless "genuine" Epson cartridges are installed. CW cartridge? No print. Epson cartridge? Print. Talk about highway robbery!!! You'd think it would be a restraint of trade violation, but I'm sure they have their bases covered somehow. But I still think it stinks.

I like Via de Los Santos, too. Los Taquitos, Los Dos Molinos, and Otro Café are on my "one of these days" list. Two good old fashioned Mexican food restaurants are El Charro in Mesa and Tee Pee on East Indian School Road. You haven't lived a righteous life until you've gotten those two notches on your belt!
