  1. That's beautiful! LOVE that color!
  2. Oh, now I clearly see what I'm missing . . . Great event, fantastic rolling stock, and fabulous pictures! Thanks for sharing them with us, Matt!
  3. Very nice.
  4. Neat kit, great bike. Ahhhh, the memories . . . I had one (1:1) for a year or so until some dirtbag stole it from me. Had a great time with it! Loved it! I saw the Adam Henry riding it one day when I was in my old GMC 6cyl stump-pulling knock-around truck. Gave the thief a real thrill when I went off-road with the pickup trying to catch him. I knew I wouldn't be able to catch him, but I was hoping he'd do something stupid like ride into a barbed wire fence because I was chasing him. He didn't and he got away. The bike was later recovered from a river . . . the day before the insurance company was going to total it out as unrecovered. They fixed it (half-a$$ed) and gave it back to me. They never got it right . . . it was never the same . . . and I ended up selling it for too little and never bought another bike. But I had fun while it lasted.
  5. Excellent! Terrific job with the graphics!!
  6. Great project, Ron. I love the tip of using solder as a template for your styrene cage. Brilliant! Wish I'd been smart enough to think of it. But that's one of the big reasons we hang out here ~ ideas, tips, technique sharing.
  7. Dr K. You were not losing your mind. The Orange Hauler was constructed from a '62 Chevy pickup cab on a '55 Chevy passenger car frame. I had the good fortune to hang out at Star Kustoms a little during the summer when Darryl was building the Ultra Truck (Monogram renamed it the Orange Hauler). I was surprised to see he was using a truck cab to build a custom, but even more surprised to see the finished product!!! And, by the way, Starbird was a truly great man. He graciously tolerated a young teenager hanging around, contributing little although making every effort to stay out of the way, and even provided some narrative of what he was doing as he went. Had I more sense back then, I would have parlayed that into a part-time job, then full-time job, then career. Or at least, tried.

  18. Very nice! Love the team name.
  19. What irked me today is realizing at Noon today that today was the show in Henderson that I had planned to attend, just to show G that I can pay him back for coming to DSC! Boy Howdy, my calendar alarm failed me this time. (G probably rigged my calendar so I'd show up next weekend. )
