  1. Mmmmm.
  2. Thanks. She's our baby.
  3. Lemme see what I can do for you! Is that the tire you've been ... ahem ... casting about about getting it cast?
  4. Exquisite build, Mike! WOW!
  5. Awesome, Harry! I'll be following along intently. Good to see you venturing into the "red side" of the hobby. I'll get your official fire buff credentials ready. I have a couple of these kits and always thought they would be great material for an IPMS-qualified 'out of box' build. I also have a couple of the 1/32 versions of the same rig. Also thought it would be cool to build one of each and display them together. I'll get to those ideas . . . some day. Build on, bro!
  6. Waiting on licensing for their "movie cars" series . . . Yugo ~ the star of "Drowning Mona."
  7. I bought a '78 Malibu a few (6) years ago. Incredibly low mileage (29,000), 305ci 4bbl, TurboHydramatic. It had been stored in a collection display for many years. Took it to MVD emissions testing and of course, it failed ~ needed tune-up. I took it to a Chevy dealer, since I didn't know any decent old school technicians, and after all, this car was barely out of warranty (not counting its age). The dealer's service manager asked me to bring it back the following week ~ the only technician they had left on staff "who knows carburetors" was on vacation. Nobody else knew how to tune it without fuel injection or a scope and a code-reader. Took it back the next week, the old-timer was back, he worked his magic, and the car cleared emissions . . . in fact, it hardly registered on any of the scales! All these years later, the emissions guys always remark on how clean it runs. Drove it to Denver from Phoenix for a roadtrip in a hot July . . . high altitude, mountain passes, air conditioning on full blast the entire way . . . and averaged 23.8 mpg. At the time, I had a "fuel-efficient" Taurus 6 cyl company car that had trouble making 22 mpg on the low plains.
  8. Joe, The Revell kit is very good, other than the body. The replacement resin body conversion kits mastered by Mike Schnur and produced by the Master Caster, Greg Wann, are superb!! Purely superb!! I'm trying to get some build-up pix online this weekend. (Been crazy busy, but now that I have the new "glass" in hand, it's time to wrap 'er up.) I'll say this . . . Mike's corrections to the styrene kit body have nailed the actual car's dimensions and appearance. The casting is most excellent and required little cleanup and preparation . . . no more than the original kit body (I cleaned & prepped one of those, too). It's well worth the price, if you want your replica Mustang to look RIGHT.
  9. Been there, done that, bought the T-shirt . . . wore it out and bought another.
  10. Nice.
  11. I remember when we didn't know what new kits were being produced . . . until we saw them on the shelves. No pre-release hype, no magazine leaks, no internet, just walk into the store and see what's there today!
  12. Give Michael our best. I did a week in a Colorado hospital in early July with severe Pneumonia and sepsis, also. I know the recovery is no fun, but he's where he needs to be! Hope he recovers quickly.
  13. Nice!
  14. Nice . . . with the exception of the hoods. Is that a local fad there? Excellent detailing regardless.
