Hey! Thank you! I compile reference photos, and I didn't notice the body colour in the grill opening right away. Once I discovered it I thought what a great challenge! The wheels come from the parts box, from which kit I can't remember, and obviously are the only thing not box stock. I know it's not the greatest kit, but with that extra work and patience, you can really can get a nice Shelby out of it! I currently don't have any plans for a convertible. Although I'd like to build another 67 GT350, that is a pretty good kit!????

Here we have a 'barnfind' 68 Shelby GT500, and 'after restoration'. Ok, they are two separate models. The before Shelby I built a few years ago, and I didn't like the way it came out, so I eventually decided to try some weathering on it, which got way out of hand, but I thought it looked cool. Then I got the idea to get another kit, and build it as a completely restored Shelby, and do a before and after photo. The restored Shelby was a fun build, with lots of clean up on almost everything, and progressed nicely. It was when I neared the final assembly, that the kit really tried to fight me, but I think patience and a lot of care won out, and I am quite happy how it came out. It is box stock. I hope you like it!
