MPC 1/16 '63 Corvette Stingray "SuperVette"
dbostream replied to ImpalaBoy's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Is there any indication Round 2 is even considering reissuing this? Would buy one for sure. Or any other 1/16 Corvette. -
Is this the same as the 1/4 ton one? What does MB mean? I have been looking for Italeri's 1/4 ton one but seems hard to come by at a reasonable price.

https://www.italeri.com/uploads/news/AY8p8Mc4VebT1GVJ5SVhR0wRFuvMlyG6nbu5dgSD.pdf Anything to be excited about? As far as I can tell nothing new unless you count the Lancia that was supposed to be released last year. Is the Toyota Land Cruiser BJ-44 kit any good?
-
My first thought was not another one of these...but there isn't one in this scale with a decent engine is there? If it is not too pricey I will pick one up, and yes I am willing to pay more when an engine is included.
-
Knowing myself I will buy one anyway and the upcoming roadster because I love the E-Type, but I hate myself for giving them my money for a half a**ed job. I wonder if the US boxed version is also molded in red? Otherwise perhaps I should try to get one of those instead.
-
The more I see of this kit the more disappointed I get. You are doing a great job though.
-
But the Trumpeter kit was never this expensive was it? So it can't be just licenses. Of course license costs could have changed since the Trumpeter kit was for sale.
-
I will also build mine as RHD but good to have the option. As a side note, I forgot about Brexit and even though I ordered before 2021 I expect this kit will get very expensive in the end. But I assume it will only be available from the UK anyway so it is unavoidable if I want the kit.

Airfix 2021 car releases (1/32)...
dbostream replied to Matt Bacon's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Wish they would tool new vinyl tires. Or does anyone know if I can buy something that fits elsewhere? -
I must be blind I cannot find shipping cost, do you know where to look?
-
Who sells these? I searched but could not found any.

Airfix 2021 car releases (1/32)...
dbostream replied to Matt Bacon's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I am not very familiar with these kits, part count seems high for 1/32. Are there engines included? I see someone wants 300 GBP for the Jag on Ebay. Also I wonder if the 1/12 Bentley will hit the shelves any time soon. -
They had the same limited edition release 7 years ago I got one back then. A lot happened to the price tag during these 7 years and not in a good way...But considering what used kits go for today I guess it is still a good deal.
-
When they scaled up the T1 did they add any extra details or is it just the identical kit scaled up? I am still hoping for the 356 Coupe in full detail or can I easily swap bodies if I get the easy click coupe too (I already have the convertible)?
-
So no car > 1:24 this year? I will get the E-Type and the new Porsches probably.

Nissan Skyline/GT-R kit advice
dbostream replied to dbostream's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Thanks for the replies. In the Aoshima R34 kit the hood is already a separate part so it would save me the trouble of cutting it out. But if it is lacking in detail in other areas perhaps it is better to go with the Tamiya anyway. @youpey If you are able to share a photo please do. Checking 1999.co.jp there looks to be a quite detailed engine available on Fujimi's R35 kit and a less detailed one on the Aoshima kit. -
I am in the "Nissan Skyline/GT-R" phase of my life and is looking to add a few kits to my stash. My favorites are the R32, R34 and R35, I already own the old Tamiya R32. I want to get an R34 and R35 too but I am not sure which kits are the best and thought you guys could help me. For the R34 I have found kits from Tamiya, Aoshima and Fujimi. Neither seem to have an engine but I am planning to get another Tamiya R32 (they are so cheap) and take the engine from that kit. As for the R35 also here there are kits from the same three manufacturers. Anyone here have these kits if so which ones do you prefer? I guess I could go the standard route and buy the Tamiya kits but I wanted to hear your opinions first.

Thanks for the info. I know I would love some Jensens, MGs, Triumphs, Austin Healeys, Aston Martins etc. but as you say not enough builders share my view. And I guess there is no point hoping for Airfix to step up and do a 1:24 car.

Didn't know there was a Revell UK. I hope they are pushing for more British classics to be tooled.

I have to admit I have lost track of all VW van kits. Have not all versions been done yet feels like we have 100 kits by now?
-
So only the tractor that is completely new? I hope there is more that is not announced yet.
-
Doesn't say NEW TOOL on any of the kits. I wonder if there are no completely new tools next year or are they yet to be announced...
