I saw on another forum that there is indeed an E-Type roadster coming next year, planned for April. It is 1:24 not sure if Revell has an old tool for this but it would make sense if it was based on the new tool.
Many kits are pointed out as inaccurate on this board and most of the time I don't see it because of my untrained eyes so it doesn't bother me. With the E-Type it is different. Having said that I will buy the kit anyway and try to correct it.
As has been speculated, wouldn't surprise me if they took a shortcut to reuse the windscreen and frame for a future roadster. It is a shame, I wonder if it is possible to fix it without doing a lot of work on the roof.
Is this still planned for release in November? A Swedish seller has it listed for a January release I hope it has not been delayed. It is not up on Revell's website under previews yet.
The big let down is the windscreen as has been discussed before but we can look forward to a nice OTS (would be surprised if they didn't make one). Still I will get one as soon as it is released.
With that pricing I am unfortunately out. Looks very good but I will get the Trumpeter kit instead as my untrained eyes cannot spot the inaccuracies anyway.
Also if I understood correctly they are planning more models in this big scale will be interesting to see what they do.
It should have come out of the factory with a layer of tape on top of it, looks way better.
I also think the Thunderbird starting from gen 5 lost all its appeal. The '57 is my favorite.
I recently picked up this kit when it was on sale (50% off). I agree not a pretty car but thought it could still be a fun build and something different compared to what I usually build. Will follow your build.
