  1. Thanks I appreciate it. This is the way I build and always have built Model Trucks. I could go crazy on it with more details but that’s just not me. I’ll leave the crazy detailing and precise building to my brother Bill. Bill sets the bar for me way too high and I’m scared of Heights 😂.
  2. It’s just some Spray Rustolem x2 primer. It’s kinda thick out of the gate but does a great job if you need to do some small filling. I think Tamiya makes a brush on primer filler now not for sure but I can’t see buying that when this is at my disposal.
  3. Thanks Jürgen. This one is a GMC General I know it’s confusing right now with all my builds being Bisons 😂. Chevy also made one too. I have a Brochure I got at a Chevy Truck dealer back in 1977 where my dad always bought his Big Trucks at. I’ll post some pics of it one day. I plan on making one of those trucks out of the Brochure soon. Thanks for stopping by.
  4. This evening I painted and detailed the interior. Should be under glass tomorrow I hope
  5. After the primer dried I noticed a few spots needed attention. I thought I would try a trick Bill show me years ago he would spray Primer in a cup and let it set up a bit then paint it on. Well it worked on to paint. While the primer was drying I work on the wrecker body and got a quick mock up.
  6. Yes. Now she has some primer and in recovery.
  7. Bill just ordered from this guy and said his work is Phenomenal. High quality and accurate workmanship. If you have impressed Bill you must have a High quality product.
  8. Just ordered my first batch of decals from the new owner. He seems nice decals are on the way I’ll let you know when they get here how they do.
  9. Me too! Those 427s with a 4 barrel Holly sucked the Gas. I could imagine pulling that Reefer what it did. I bet after pulling a long hill those manifolds were Cherry Red when he got to the top. 😂
  10. The other day I reached out to Rockford (Steve) and asked if I could use his technique on making a day cab out of the snapper bison/generals. He kindly obliged me and said go ahead. This morning I was looking through my materials to get the project started I found some styrene my brother Bill gave me many years ago so I thought I would give it a try it doesn’t look the best but I’m happy I got a cab insert. Although I didn’t use Steve’s idea I want to thank him for giving me the permission if I did. I sanded the ribs off and sanded the excess material around the cab to conform the shape I was looking for. One thing Bill taught me many years ago always cut enough material to sand down. It’s easier to sand to your mark than to start over if you cut to the exact place. I think next time if I use this method I’ll reinforce below the window with a flat piece of styrene it was getting pretty thin in this area so I had to quit. Enjoy the pics.
  11. I’ve tore a flap off last year because of a Spotters negligence back to me in a tight yard. After that I found out they can’t be trusted. Never Broke a side in my Dump Truckin life either. Many of loader operators came close but after a good chewing from me they got with the program. A missing Mudflap here in the US is just calling the DOT pull me over please 😂
  12. Nice Mudflaps. One thing I would never get caught with is a tore Mudflap or missing just too tacky for me and the rigs I ran just makes a show truck look like a turd on a silver platter 😂
  13. Yes you could put the KW one in there or if your just going curb side it I would just put 2 sticks in there. Just make sure one is behind the other. The Auxiliary shifter goes in between the two seats. You can use the seats out of the Chevy Blazer or the GMC Jimmy or the Astro to get pretty correct. Hope this helps
  14. Sneak the sub assemblies in your briefcase and build them on your break. Back when I drove OTR I would bring a model or two with me and build on it. Or if I was laid over I would find a Hobby Shop and buy it and build it.
  15. Looks good to me like a well worn DD. Thanks for sharing.
  16. Nice Brian seated front row. My Dad had a brand new one like this one in 1968. Are you going to put a 5&4 behind that 427??
  17. Thanks Steve. Hope to get this done over the weekend. Thanks for stopping by again.
  18. Last night I shortened the Air cleaner, Painted the body, and prepared the back of the cab for the day cab insert I’m going to attempt to make
  19. Thanks Jeff. I test fitted and calculate a lot of this build before getting it off the ground so hopefully no problems with the mix match stuff.
  20. Yes I’m glad to get this one in the bench again. Thanks for stopping by.
  21. Most short hoods had 6V71 238 Detroits or the Triple Nickel Cummins This model kit doesn’t offer a engine. Just the bottom side of one that looks like a Cummins 250
  22. Thanks I appreciate it and I’m sure Steve does as well. Glad you like them.
  23. Yes I agree Steve. I think these are great little kits.
  24. Being this was in the mix with the others I worked on it a little last night also. I got the frame together and the body is in primer. Next is to clean up the cab and get it primed and painted.
  25. I didn’t walk away I stayed to watch your reaction 😂 I think you can do it maybe get one of those 1/32 Ertl trailers and work your Magic.
