  1. Bruno, check out this link: http://www.magazinepublisher.com/models/tires/tires.html I am cataloging the sizes every off road tire I find (including Alan's). These tires's sizes can be found in the "Tires Still Available for Purchase" starting with the third tire. John
  2. I just ran across this thread... AWESOME! I would love to join in if I had the time (maybe next time). After all the cars are built we should challenge Jairus by having him draw up art from requests. I would love to see what he can do working out of his element with a kit like Lindberg's GT6 or new Prius. Keep posting! John
  3. I have had good luck with bleach. John
  4. Agreed, great job! John
  5. Thinking out loud...I wonder if someone makes a rub-on decal kinda thing. I remember back in the 80s they sold rub-on lettering but also had architectural detail sheets with just about any shape, line, texture, etc. If they had a sheet of dotted lines that were little circles it might work... not sure if they would show up under thick paint though. John
  6. Hey all, found this cool site a few weeks ago. It will allow you to match model paint to a photo. Basically you load a photo into the viewer and click on an area on that photo. Then click the "show matching paint" button. The software will tell you what brands of paint match it best. If you click the "+" button you can deselect the brands that are not available in your area. You can also have it pick only spray or many other options. http://scalemodeldb.com/paint Warning, the site is addictive... I spent about an hour when I first found the site, uploading photo after photo to see the best matches. It says Model Master 52703 CheZoom Teal Pearl is pretty close... a little darker. John
  7. Cool kit, hadn't seen that one. Keep posting pix as you build. John
  8. Yes, I believe the Hummer did come with BGF ATs. I have been told they are 33s in 1/25. Check out my tire page: http://www.magazinepublisher.com/models/tires/tires.html I have been logging as many tires as I (and friends) can find.
  9. What tires are the 4th and 5th from the right (the center pair)? I don't recall seeing them before. John
  10. Guys, A couple friends and I have started a new website dedicated to buildin off road and light trucks. Jeeps, Broncos, Chevys, buggies, dirty, clean, racing, show... we want to see it all! We want to invite you to visit and hopefully join up... we modelers can't have too many resources for our addiction! OffroadModels.proboards.com John
  11. Here is a good WIP from the Master (DCranky) http://s13.zetaboards.com/B_n_B_Auto_Builders/topic/6677799/1/ He also shows his rusting process. John
  12. Agreed, awesome job! Very unique. Reminds me of the BMW art cars. John
  13. Yea, with Alan's work it is tons easier! Thanks Casey, if you want to PM me that would be cool. John
  14. Hey Alan, can you post the measurements for us (and so I can post them on my database)? They turned out great by the way. John

  17. We just got back from the Hobby Town... Wow! Great store...highly recommended. Hopefully we will be able to hit AAA tomorrow (Hobby Town surprisingly didn't have the needed items). Thanks
  18. Gang, my family has to run down to Atlanta for a few days and I was wondering if there were any good hobby stores... I have Christmas money burning a hole in my pocket (I need some stuff). Can anyone recommend any in North Atlanta or anywhere between Knoxville TN and Atlanta. Thanks! John
  19. Simon, what kind of regulations are causing all this panic? As you might have read, our government is on the same track of more and more regs/laws also and I am curious what we might need to look out for. Here in the South snow is pretty rare also, a few dustings per year is about all we receive. John
  20. Michael back in a car? Hard to believe!
  21. From one old guy to another, welcome back. You will be inspired by what they are doing today! John
  22. Yes, neat project. Can't wait to see how you create the wet/bubbles (if you are) and the hose. John
  23. I gotta say it too... awesome! John
  24. Made time this week and found a spare radiator that I could cut up to make the one I need: I found a great big radiator in my unbuilt Revell Ford Lightning kit. I guess I will worry about finding another when I actually get around to building it. Thanks again, John
  25. Thanks all! Luke, you are right. I could probably get away with faking it but I am so anal that it would bug me every time I looked at the finished model. There WILL be other things that bug me about, I want to keep the ones I can control to a minimum. Thanks again! John
