  1. I assume you mean the one I posted below...Still trips me out that its a computer rendering. This turned out great, I love it! I need to get back onto mine now that I'm out of my arm cast, yours is totally inspiration to get mine done. Nice job.
  2. I'm not even a 4x4 guy by any means and this is still one of my favorite builds to follow. You are doing a heck of a job. Keep up the great work
  3. Going with Jimbo's answer. Voted real....ugly but real
  4. Got a camera for Christmas so I figured I'd post some pics of this. not a horrible kit but not detailed by any means. I think they body may be warpped but we'll see how it is when and if I ever finish my El Camino project.
  5. That hood is soooooo sweet!!! The whole car in general is cool. Very nice job.
  6. Going with model.
  7. I spotted a box marked "trophies" when I was going threw my storage last night looking for something else. Being my easily distracted self I decided to open it up, there was a bunch of trophies wrapped up in news paper and this little gem. A Pininfarnia Mythos Made by Monogram. The funny thing is I dont even remember having this thing as a kid, I must have been 9 years old when it came out though (1989) so who knows It looked like I had started to brush paint some of the parts and lost interest.... I'll try to post some pictures tonight. Anyone built one of these? How did they turn out? I'm not sure if I want to keep it in the box for nostalgias sake or build it yet....most likely build it though.
  8. They appear to all be from the same guy. It's a shame too, he built some really nice models. Not sure what happened though.
  9. Wow, thanks for all of the great tips folks. This is going to be alot of help getting this done. I found http://www.resinrealm.net/ and will be checking them out as well as a few others. The hood and roof seem like they are going to be the hardest parts. Thanks again!!!
  10. Is this it at the bottom of the page? http://public.fotki.com/khamilton/models/t...es/street-rods/
  11. Here is a good thread to find pics on as well. http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=1127465 IF you need anymore just ask, I have plenty on my computer.
  12. Yeah, I've seen that one a few times in my search, but its just to far off from what I'm trying to copy I think. I may just end up going with a merc model and modifying it at this point. It seems to be the closest thing I can find. Thanks guys!
  13. I'm really bad on my years other than knowing if its a MK1 or MK2 etc...etc... but I have a ton of pics from shows I've been to. Let me see what I can dig up. Heres some to start with....
  14. I'm looking for a plastic or resin baby Lincoln but am having trouble finding anything close. I was wanting to build a copy of a friend of mines car but the best I can come up with to get close is the new 49 Mercury. IS there anything closer then this? I'm going to have to modify the heck out of it no matter what I do but I figured this less modification, the less the headache. Heres some pics of his car for refrence. I'd post some more pics of the front but the only ones I have aren't exactly safe for all ages and I like this forum so I decided against it.

    59 El Camino

Just curious, what after market parts did you buy for this? I'm loving your attention to detail on this build
  19. I'm Sort of back to work on this one. I'm out of my cast so I can do a little bit of work. I'm in the process of doing a custom bed on it, but I'm having structure issues. I'm trying to make the sides of the bed come down at a curve from the top of the bed and over the stock wheel wells. The problem I am having is getting the styrene to shape to match the curve I want. Anyone have any tips on an "easy" way to do this? my main problem is just getting them to stay in the same place long enough to dry.
  20. Way Cool!! Can anyone else imagine what the painters tape bill would be on something like this in full size?
