  1. What he said...Actually a couple of you are older than my grandparents. I've been building on and off since I was around 5, with the help of my step dad back then though...still have my first, it's a scale C3PO from Star wars.
  2. Wow, that turned out great. I'm a old school kustom guy but I keep seeing these and get more and more of a desire to build one.
  3. I couldnt imagine that much rain in 2 days, I think we get that in like a year....I love Sacramento # Annual maximum temperature (average): 92.4 degrees Fahrenheit (33.6 degrees Celsius) # Annual minimum temperature (average): 37.7 °F (3.2 °C) # Average rainfall: 19.6 inches (500 mm)
  4. When I first got into model building I actually bought one of these and returned it thinking they forgot to put the body in the box...
  5. Perfect! I dont know why I didn't think of that.... now to track one down. Thanks man!
  6. I'm working on a project that will remain hidden till my new camera charger shows up in the mail....anywho... I'm looking for the biggest bubble top I can find. I've got one for an Ed Roth Beatnik Bandit model but it's about 1/3 too small and wont work. Anyone know of anything larger?
  7. Figured I'd share. http://jalopnik.com/5047375/fun-with-corve...-north-carolina
  8. is that a 67?? And honestly all of that political ###### showing up in all of these threads is getting really annoying. If I'm not mistaken I think you've been asked to stop several times.
  9. I have my virus settings pretty low but I haven't gotten any warnings either.

  11. This is Magoo. He's more than likely one of the best dogs I've had. I got him from the SPCA about a year ago and couldn't imagine not having him. Here he is having a rare moment....moving when food isn't involved. My girlfriend has a 7 month old pitbull puppy that I'm about 1 step away from killing (he's eaten model instructions and my shoes) but I still cant find my ###### camera charger so pics of him will have to wait.
  12. Nah, thats what this is for.... That or I was just drunk and bored with a roll of tin foil...
  13. I lost my camera charger when I was moving, so my build is on hold till I find it. I'm starting with the F-150 Lightning kit I picked up awhile back, also using extra parts from various other kits. I'll post pics here soon one way or another. I need to get going on this one asap to keep up.
  14. If it's not to late I want to join in on this. I've got a few kits that could be put to good use in this style.
  15. BTW for anyone not going, here are some pics I've come across from all of the festivities this weekend in that area... http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2008-pebble...tour-delegance/ http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2008-gordon...rworks-revival/ http://www.autoblog.com/2008/08/16/montere...o-takes-flight/
  16. It is well worth the trip, I usually go every year but have the flu this year so cant make it. Have a great time and I hope you brought extra memory for the camera, I usually take around 400 to 500 pics every time I go.....no kidding. If you get a chance go threw the Carmel area its right by Pebble Beach and you would be amazed at what is parked right on the street.
  17. Mine was riverside hobbies in Sacramento. I went in there when I was like 10 for a pinewood derby car kit (cub scouts) and my step dad couldn't get me out of there! I've been going there for years now, I bet I've paid the couple that owns it's retirement
  18. Going with real on this one.
  19. I know you are done with this project but I saw this on a blog I frequent and thought of you and figured I'd share. http://blog.makezine.com/archive/2008/08/1...er_turbine.html
  20. Great....The "political rants on the forum" crying begins. This has happened on almost every forum I've been on and usually the only way to get rid of political rants is to make it perfectly clear in the title of the forum section that they are not allowed. Political rants always lead to fights, lost friendships and someone wanting to quit the forum. I've always gone by the philosophy "if you dont like it then dont read it" and left it with that. At the same time this is a scale model forum, not a gas prices forum, not a George Bush Sucks forum, and not a No war in Iraq forum.....Its a scale model forum. I believe the fine folks on here give everyone on here more than enough space to rant and go off topic. Lets not take advantage of it...... Now back on topic and making fun of evil's weird taste in music
  21. I've made a little bit of progress on this one. The other day wore me out trying to get everything straight so I've been dragging butt on it. I think I need some advice.... I love white interior in real cars, but have always avoided it in models because it looks like I glued it in without painting it when I do it....I REALLY want white interior in this car but want to avoid the "glued in" look. Anyone have any advice on making the upholstery looking more realistic? I've BMF'd the chrome and the carpet is black but thats all I can think of. I'll post pics here in a bit
  22. Wow! Great link (thank you) If he doesnt have darn near every model ever made in there I'd be one surprised modeler....Thats incredible!
  23. I loved there first album then they just got annoying and sort of repetitive. I'm sort of digging this one though. I still say those boys all need a hug.
  24. I left the instructions to my current project sitting on my coffee table last night and woke up to confetti all over my living room. My girlfriends pit bull puppy ate my instructions. Little bastards lucky he's cute..... Now normally this wouldn't be an issue, I could put a model together in my sleep, however this particular model has a bunch of different options and I dont know what a few of these parts are... Anyone have a copy they could scan for me? I'd appreciate the heck out of it.
  25. I'm off of school for a few weeks so I decided to dig into a model that wouldn't give me more gray hair....boy did I pick the wrong one. I spent about 6 hours last night just getting the body usable.I had to cut and remove the front fender to get it to refit right, I had to scratch build a door jamb based on the opposite side and I had to take a hair dryer to the A pillars... About 5 this morning I got it to a paintable point and threw some primer on it and caught some shut eye. I came back about 2 hours later ( I love insomnia...really) and decided to throw some paint on it. I went with a two tone scheme which is not usually something I do but I figured it was time for something different. it ended up looking a little on the Harley edition side but its ok I guess. I'm using Testors one coast Lacquer ( I love that stuff) and some Krylon Satin black for the paint. heres some pics so far, I've got ALOT more to go though so stay tuned.... Next stop Riverside hobbies for some BMF and rims...
