    59 El Camino

I was building one of these till I broke my arm, just looking at this one has me anxious to get started on mine again though darn it. Very nice job!
  4. Wow! Those turned out pretty slick
  5. I broke my arm getting out of the shower so this is on hold for awhile. Dr. said it could be up to 3 months to heal...guess I've got plenty of time to lurk..
  6. Man, how come 4-H didnt have model building when I was in it?!?! That turned out great! Very nice job!
  7. This is full scale but maybe these will help... http://www.volksrods.com/forum/showthread.php?t=6805 http://www.volksrods.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2757
  8. The amount of detail into this project is absolutely nuts!!! But I like it, very nice job :)
  9. Those turned out WAY cool, I like that they are another variation of the firebird/Camaro concepts. They remind me alot of a Vette I took some pics of at the Concourso in 2006. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v646/Gre...so/DSCN1724.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v646/Gre...so/DSCN1727.jpg
  10. They were fairly standard on Ford trucks that had just about any added options. My girlfriends dad has one that has the compartment and my grandfather had one that had it as well....Come to think of it I don't know that I have ever seen one without around here.
  11. I think its real so my vote is it may be real.....or a model....oor........ah heck voting real
  12. I'm in love with that rear end, this car is going to be amazing. Very sweet job so far.
  13. This is looking great, I'm looking forward to seeing more progress on it, nice job!

    "X Frames"

On a related note, do any of these have the "factory" suspension? the El Camino kit has these stupid adjustable blocks for the front suspension, no offense to anyone who has built them with this but I think they look junky.
  15. Wow, now those are some mods! It's funny you mention a convertible, I was actually looking for refrence photos last night and came across this one... http://www.jaylenosgarage.com/your_garage/cars/2391.shtml I'd LOVE to build one but my model car skills are fairly limited at this point.
  16. Basic plans for it are to be a mild custom, just kind of things that make people wonder if they came that way or not. Shaved emblems, smoothed bed sides, shaved door handles...etc..etc... The body will be the same color as the engine block, I'd love to do a white roof on it but for a first model in a long time I figure a simple one color paint job will be the best till I get back into the swing of things so I'm not sure at this point. As for how long it has been, I'd say like 5 or 6 years is all. I've gotten so busy being in school and working that I haven't had a chance to do the things I love (or did love) doing.I've got a background in Auto Body and have built several custom 1:1 cars for myself and I'm a fine art major so I figured it was time to get back into things and put what I know to good use.
  17. My post count has been getting up around here so I figured I'd better post my latest project, an AMT/ERTL 1959 El Camino. So Far all thats been done is a shaving of the door handles, fixing the warped rockers, fixing the insdie of the beds gaps (still in progress) and cleaning up some factory bumps and whatnot. If anyone has any comments or suggestions feel free.
  18. I've tried that vending machine kit in the past and lets just say I had less than satisfactory results. I'd love to see the progress on yours as it goes along.
  19. This is great! Makes me want to finish my El Camino project even more
  20. I usually don't care for multiple color paint jobs on models but I'm loving this one. You've really nailed it. The chassis looks like it is coming along great as well. Very nice job
  21. I spend about 3 hours a week working on my stuff, though with midterms on the way at school that may soon dwindle down.
  22. I'm gonna be the odd guy out here and say its real. It just seems to obvious to be a model

    "X Frames"
