Thanks so much guys! ?

Thanks guys, these kits are fun for sure. I also have the California Charger in my stash along with Don Garlits rear engine and Don Prudomme Wynn’s Winder. It was tough to pick one to open lol. Check out the finished car in the under glass section! ??

Thanks so much Safire! You did great with the colors. I straightened the frame with boiling water. Try the gorilla tape, you’ll like how easy it is, but you’ll have to brush a little Tamiya flat black on it to knock down the gloss a bit. I had no problems with the panels under the headers, my big problem was the cowl on top in front of the engine. Had to cut the edge back a bit. The upper snd lower nose panels were very tough to install around those radius rods. Once again, thanks for the inspiration with your beautiful build ??

Happy Holidays to everyone. Finished up this big project last night. It went together well, although the body panels were a bit finicky. Tamiya paints, and I wasn’t sure what shades to use but I ran across Safire6’s post of this kit from a couple years ago and thought it looked great so I borrowed his color idea. ? It’s built box stock with the exception of the blower belt that I wasn’t a fan of, so I made my own with Gorilla black tape and it looks good actually. The frame had a slight warp from the box but I managed to get it a lot straighter. Thanks for looking! ?

Hi all….I’ve never posted in WIP before, there’s an awful lot of major talent around here, but I thought oh what the heck. I had gallbladder surgery a couple weeks ago and am off work for a while. Crazy how much bench time you can get when work isn’t involved ?. Anyway I’ve got a few of these 1/16 in the stash and grabbed this one off the stack. I decided to do a box stock build and just have fun with it. I’ve made good progress and should be wrapping it up soon. Safire6 posted his beautiful build of this car a few years ago and it sparked my enthusiasm! I used his pics on occasion for reference including the Tamiya paint numbers. Hopefully he doesn’t mind. I didn’t like the rubber band blower belt, so I made my own out of black Gorilla duct tape. BTW, I usually spray Molotow thru my airbrush for chrome duties, but tried Revell’s Chrome Spray for kicks, and besides it being a bit costly it is as good or better than anything else in my opinion, and dries a lot faster and seems to be a bit more durable. Anyway thanks for looking and I hope everyone had a great holiday! ??

Looks fantastic! You really did a clean sharp job. I had this kit back in the early eighties but traded it to a friend before building it. Well done ? -
