  1. Cool project. I hope you find the clear sprue. On another note, was it you that was doing a Kraco Indy car? If so, was that ever finished? Thanks,
  2. machined and plastic 3 piece shifter Thanks,
  3. What I like the most is the personal touch. I mean, what other mag can you say you have met the editor and graphics artist and consider them your friends? That creates a sense of "ownership". Whatever you do I know it will be carefully thought and from the heart. One possible change for the G&J section is to change it to "Ask the experts" so others can chip in on the answers. Something I would address is not the content itself, but the distribution model (pun intended) both retail and subscription. Mail the subscriber's copies first. Get it out to the masses! Get it to big stores like Borders, Barnes and Noble, WalMarts, Airport news stands etc. Write to your congressman! ehh no, not that one. I'm amazed that even some Hobby Shops I visit on my trips don't even know about it. Let's spread the word! That is not a job for the editor alone, we are all responsible for that. Thanks,
  4. Very cool! I built the same model in the same colors back in the day! There are still parts of it laying around somewhere..... Thanks,
  5. Very nice execution of a not so popular subject. Love the color. I didn't know the engine was VW. Did the 2.2 also evolved fom the VW 1.7? Thanks,
  6. Cool racer! That body kit really transforms the GT3 into a mean racer. Thanks,
  7. That's a cool build! The mods don't look out of place. It looks "natural". I always liked the look of those cars. A neighbor had a turbo 280ZX back in the day and it was a cool car. Thanks,
  8. A kit that intimidated me when I opened it was the Tamiya Enzo. I need to tackle it one of these days. But I've always been intimidated by decals. After more than 30 years in the hobby, it was not until recently that I started to face them.

Cool build! That kit is a bit challenging. Thanks,
  10. Starting to come together. Still a long way to go. Thanks,
  11. Some more progress. Made my own stacks, added fuel lines. A very light wash to give the barely used effect. Thanks,
  12. I've had the privilege of having that model in my house when it was in progress. Pictures don't make it justice. Bravo! Thanks,
  13. Paul, That looks outright dangerous! That's why I like it Thanks,
  14. Hello, Has anyone ordered prints from Fotki? How is the quality? Is the service fast? Thanks,
  15. Cool! Black Z06 always look sinister. There is one here at a local gas station and I shop there only to see it... Thanks,
  16. I ran out of my "overcomplicaditis" meds. I started doing the stacks in aluminum. I'll do about 10 or so so I can pick the best 8. Yes, the kit's ones are decent, yes I can buy them made but what fun would that be? I also did the other halfshaft. Too bad they need to be painted Thanks,
  17. Move over buddy! She will carry the torch now. Good job. The color fade is nice. Congratulations to her.

No words in english to describe it, and the words I'd use in my native spanish would get me banned for life.... so let's settle for the understatement: WOW!!!!! I remember following this one a while ago. What a bad ass car! Great job as usual! Thanks,
  19. Jim, That's absofreakinglutely GORGEOUS! It turned out just GREAT! That's a car with attitude and you captured Jake's soul! Thanks,
  20. I'm going with real because I am about to start a model of one of those cars. If that's a 1/25 model then I now have a benchmark to try to reach. It looks like a 1:1 non-running display car. If it's a model, then it could be a bigger scale top end diecast model or something. Thanks,
  21. Hey Art! I think of you when working on this model. I didn't eliminate the seams. That's a no-no. I just made them tighter and eliminated some ugly gaps. Thanks for the heads up on the front suspension. I'll check on that. Thanks,
  22. WOW! They are all very nice, especially the first one!
  23. Brass halfshafts. Why? I don't know... It is not very visible in this pic but the plastic one is off center and not round. Thanks,
  24. Thanks guys! Gray: While not exactly a strict documented replica, I'm loosely building the 1968 Indy 500 race car that Gurney drove to 2nd place. The car used the Weslake engine. I eventually plan to build the cammer engine to display next to it. Thanks,
  25. The kit's plastic distributor/magneto/whatever was hopeless. I machined a new one and started wiring it. Thanks,
