  1. I use Photoshop with good results. I don't know about the program you are using, but you can try different picture formats like .bmp, .gif or others and see if it improves when reduced... Thanks,
  2. Great craftsmanship. Any tips on how to turn brass in the lathe? I've done aluminum for a while but my first attempt at brass was not exactly the best. Thanks,
  3. Very cool! That's a neat little car. A few months ago I was talking to a guy that restored one and I asked "How do you get in there?" His answer was "Getting in is not that bad. Trying to get out is the real challenge" He said it is so small he can't drive with regular shoes, as the pedals are so close together he needs to drive with special shoes. Thanks,
  4. Welcome to the forum Jerry! Your work is simply amazing. Ever since I saw pics of this model from GSL, you have inspired me to work more with brass. Looking forward to see more of your work! Thanks,
  5. HA! Ironic: The antenna looks better in this pic than in the retouched one
  6. These people are considered dangerous. They are known to kill time and boredom. If you see them, join the fun! From left to right: Ismael aka the Corvette guy, Ken aka Bigtruck , Dean Milano aka....... Dean Milano I had a great time meeting with you guys! Great people, great modelers, great collectors and great company to be around!!!!! Looking forward to next time! Thanks,
  7. I have not seen any. You can contact Ed Cervo at islandcollectibles.net or Kevin at StradaSports.com If it exists, they should know about it and can get it for you. Thanks,
  8. After reading this, since I'm in Chicago this week, I went to Venture Hobbies and they have it! I bought one and opened it at the hotel room. WHAT A GREAT KIT! Thanks Randy for letting us know it was out. I actually think I may get more than one.......... Thanks,
  9. No. What you describe is a mold line. You need to sand them down to get them to disappear. A sink mark is a place where the material didn't fill the mold completely. In that case you need to fill or add material to it. Here is a picture of sink marks in wheels. The spokes are supposed to be smooth. Thanks,
  10. Simply multiply by the actual and divide by the new one. In this case 43/25... Edit: I started writing it and walked away. By the time I posted it Andy had already answered
  11. For a stuck cap I put it upside down and pour a very small amount of thinner under the cap lip. That softens some of the paint and makes it easier to open. Thanks,
  12. As others have said, make sure it is squeaky clean. After cleaning it, I usually wet sand it with 1000 grit. I use Plastikote T-235 primer for resin bodies (and everything else for that matter) with great results, especially if you are using lacquers. HTH. Thanks,
  13. The Revell one is out! Hurray! Now I have a chance of building this car and finally set the AMT one on fire!!! WOHOO!!! Thanks,
  14. Very nice Marcos! Darn it! Now I want to do one Thanks,
  15. Nice build! You can get the later steering wheel from the Z06 and send me the rest of the kit
  16. If an Enzo runs in IMSA ALMS it would be in GT1 category like the MC12 that ran in Atlanta, which is based on the Enzo. GTS would be the older category 2005 and before. So those are C6R decals. (The show car still had GTS decals on it) Also the ALMS logo changed for 2006/2007. That's a 2005 ALMS logo. But don't get me wrong, it looks GREAT! Thanks,
  17. Model. An IMSA spec antenna that long would be VHF which is thinner. UHF would be that thick but way much shorter. If it's real, that's either a special lower freq antenna (maybe for testing or telemetry tests) or a non working show unit. Thanks,
  18. That's a cool build. I love the trunk hinges! Thanks,
  19. I hereby declare myself officially crazy: Yes, the sway bar has a kink. It WILL be addressed. Prototype done, at least 3 more to go... Thanks,
  20. Congratulations Lee! After all you have been through in the last 2 years, from Afghanistan to the poor paying job, I'm really glad things are looking better now and the future is brighter. And by the way, THANKS for serving the country. Thanks,
  21. I have used masking tape as well as other materials, but now I use 3M surgical tape. I got an almost empty roll from a Doctor at the E.R. It handles like regular masking tape but it has a nice slight texture to it. Thanks,
  22. WOW! Those are so cool to look at! Even if not mine, they bring a lot of memories! Especially that Chevy Bison truck. Somewhere, I must still have parts left from the one I built. Would you be interested if I find them? Thanks,
  23. Hi, Like Mike said, I paint them separately and attach them at the end. Usually that's the last thing I put on a model. If there is enough contact surface I scrape a bit of paint off at the contact point and glue them in place. If not, I drill a small hole in both the mirror and the door or pillar and use a small wire as a dowel. Of course you want to do the drilling and test fitting before painting. Another alternative is using white glue. The joint will be weak and it can be easily knocked down, but it's safer than superglue or plastic cement on painted surfaces. HTH. Thanks,
  24. Very nice model of an early Porsche. Those cars laid the foundation for them to become an automotive powerhouse in the world. Thanks,
  25. Looking good so far! The F40 is one of my favorite Ferraris. I have one patiently waiting its turn at the bench. Thanks,
