WIP: 2003 Pirates of the Carribean Pontiac LONG 1st Post!!

David, All I can say is THANK YOU for sharing. "Impressive" is an understatement! Thanks, -
Hello, I just received by mail one of those semi grail kits that for some reason, eludes you for a while. I may be in the minority, but I usually prefer coupes over convertibles. This is no exception. While the Daytona convertible is a cool car, I prefer the more serious look of the coupe. This is the Italeri kit in a Testors box from 1990. A quick glance show a mint kit and the wire wheels are very nice. There is some magic about front mounted V12 engines..... Here is a local one I've seen at shows: Two more and I'll be done buying prancing horses for the street: A 250 GTO and a 599 Fiorano. yeah right.... Thanks,
-
Nice as usual Brendan! Very nice scheme.

Hi Pat, Thanks for your comments. The white car was debuted in Sebring as Fellows farewell car. It was car # 3 and had that paint scheme for that race only. However, Compuware agreed to enter a third car in Mosport last weekend as car # 33. That was the white car driven by Fellows and Andy Pilgrim. Having no competition in ALMS GT1 this year, I certainly hope they race it again. There is a very good chance I can make it to the Atlanta race this year. I sure hope to see it. But been a long endurance race, I don't think they will enter three cars in that race because 3 drivers are used per car, instead of the 2 of the other regular races. But I'm available if they need a backup driver... Take a guess at what would be in my workbench as the next C6R.... Thanks,
-
Great build as usual! I admire your work with race cars and this is no exception. Thanks,

Hello, Continuing with the "Treat each sub assembly as a model" philosophy, The rear spoiler is almost done. Still pending the brackets but I'll consider them as part of the body. Thanks to David Palmeter (7000in5th) for the elusive close up pictures of the real one as seen from above. Despite taking hundreds of pictures myself, David has helped me a lot with his detail pictures. Carbon Fiber unit, but the top is semigloss black with a perimieter on raw CF. The XM decal extends beyond the black into the raw CF as per the 1:1 AER decals on the end plates. Be careful when using decal set with decals over decals (CF) It is barely visible but there is a PE wicker trim that is semigloss black but the outer edge is shiny metallic as per the 1:1 Raw CF at the bottom but it will barely be visible. Still a lot of things pending but getting closer....... Thanks,

Simply, there is no better color for it. I love that color! Hope you get years of enjoyment! Thanks, -
Looking GREAT! I'll follow up this one closely as I have one in primer. Thanks,

Real or Model...Take 2 FINISHED!!!
ismaelg replied to Harry P.'s topic in Real or Model? / Auto ID Quiz
I voted real because of the headers. If this is a model those would be the thinnest wall and best looking headers I remember seeing. The very low angle of the pic makes it tricky. Thanks, -
Plastikote primer...
ismaelg replied to ismaelg's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
HA! Be careful with what you wish Just got a call from the distributor. They are bringing in 5 cases of T235 just for me. That's 30 cans I guess I will now sell primer locally Thanks, -
Plastikote primer...
ismaelg replied to ismaelg's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
GOOD NEWS!!! I'm now the owner of what is believed to be the only case (6 cans) of Plastikote T-237 primer known to exists within the boundaries of this island Although I prefer T235 (grey) I'm happy with the T-237 as it is the same, but white. The sales rep. the distributor and the local retailer all have my contact info in case they find T235. It seems they are all curious now and that could be a good thing.... Thanks, -

I was hoping to have it done by my next trip but I'm going out of the country again next week and there are so many things pending I ask mysef: How did this go from an innocent build to one of the more complex builds I've done? Here is a teaser picture.... Thanks,
-
Gray, About the color: I have 3 words: blue Blue BLUE!!!!! Blue is my favorite car color. I personally like the first set of wheels better, but the other 2 sets are not bad either. As I said, cool project. I'll follow up closely. Thanks,
-
WOW! Did you ran into a 1/25 scale light pole in a 1/25 freeway exit at 2.4 MPH (1/25 of 60 MPH) For years I thought I was the only person in the world that liked Toby's movies. Glad to see they are now recognized. Great job on that one! Thanks,
