  2. Nice '57! Great color combo and wheel choice on this one. Thanks, Ismael
  3. Hello, This one is FINISHED! The Citroen 2CV is considered by many (me included) one of the ugliest car ever made. But that misses its point entirely. This car is more historically significant than many realize. Just like the Model T in the US and the VW Bug in Germany, this car took the concept of the automobile to the masses of France and eventually the rest of the world, at a time where horses were still used as primary form of transportation. Scheduled to be launched in October of 1939, its debut was postponed because of a little disruption at the time called World War II ! German forces occupied Paris just weeks prior to the scheduled event. The project was protected and hidden from the Nazis. The car was eventually launched in 1948 as a 1949 model year and was in production until 1990. Over 5 million were eventually made all over the world. It was not meant to be pretty. It was not meant to be a luxury car. It was not meant to be a sports car. It was a simple, reliable, economical, easy to operate and easy to maintain vehicle at times where horses were still widely used for transportation in rural France after WWII. Its unique suspension was designed with unpaved farms in mind. A famous test was safely carrying a basket of eggs thru a rough farm road. Even American journalists who ridiculed it for years, ended up accepting the fact that it did have a major impact in history. Some of the most famous 2CVs in movies are the famous nun scene on an early 1980's film where she grinds one to the ground literally but takes her to the destination. The other famous one was non other than Mr. James Bond, escaping from the bad guys in a yellow 2CV. You need to be in the right mood to watch these: As expected, the car went thru many changes during its run. Many variations were made including a twin engine version, delivery vans called Furgonettes and many others. This model: I've been discussing cars with my good friend and fellow modeler Robert W. from Canada for over 25 years. We were recently discussing French cars and the two opposites: Talbots and Delages in one end of the spectrum and the 2CV on the other. Long story short, he found and sent me this model of the 2CV. It is a Heller kit in 1/43 scale. A French model of a French car in a very popular European scale. Thanks Robert! Great gesture! The box art depicts a car from about 1960, but the kit represents a very early car, probably even the launch unveiling car. Very basic kit. I added dash instruments, the unique shifter, interior door handles, roof clips, windshield wipers and the kit's glass was replaced with individual pieces. One of the car's very unique features is that windows do not roll down. Instead, 2-part front door windows are hinged at the middle. The upper part is fixed, the bottom hinges out and up. I replicated the door side window open, and the passenger side closed. Also added early 1950's local license plates. Did not go for the showroom look, but rather a used but well cared for car. Notice the stain as fuel has spilled over the years filling up. Since photography is another of my hobbies, I setup the shoot to replicate harsh exterior sunlight (the photoshoot was done at almost midnight). It is always an "impromptu" auto show wherever I go! So, I always carry 2 posters. Marketing was genius. The ad says: "Travelling flat out at 71.5 MPH the Citroen 2CV will easily overtake a Ferrari travelling at 65 MPH" And to put it in perspective of the 1/43 scale: I hope you like it! Thanks, Ismael
  4. Thank you all! A back seat is in the mail on its way here. Thanks, Ismael
  5. Thank you all for the suggestions! All are great! I would like to try modifying the back seat of a '67 in order to keep the correct seat pattern. Anybody has one to sell or trade? Thanks, Ismael
  6. Really nice! Thank you!
  7. Thank you! That looks absolutely gorgeous! Now I need to find one of the back seats. Thanks, Ismael
  8. Hello, Need to convert an AMT '67 Impala SS kit from buckets to a bench seat. Any suggestions? Thanks, Ismael
  9. Hello, First color coat. Now to let it rest for a few days before sanding down to almost nothing, then 2 or 3 wet coats and eventually clear. Thanks, Ismael
  10. Hello, To the best of my knowledge, the only two Wilson Pre-selector gear shifters I have ever seen in scale were both scratchbuilt... by me ? This one and the Talbot race car I finished back in 2022. As a reference here is the one from the race car. The shifter was painted black on road cars, polished metal on the race car. Slightly different styles but the exact same function. My understanding is that the gearbox (and all the powertrain for that matter) was the same between the race car and the road cars which I have seen referred to as "race cars in evening gowns" Thanks, Ismael
  11. Hello, Work that primer! Come on! Give me 1! and 2! and 3 coats! One more! This won't see a drop of paint until the primer is perfect. Thanks, Ismael
  12. Thank you Steve! I will check to see if I find the correct seat files. Thanks! Ismael
  13. Hello, Anybody has a Monogram 1/32nd scale 1979 Corvette seat laying around? Recently got this to re-do but it is missing a seat. Thanks, Ismael
  14. Hello, One of the most prominent features of Talbot-Lagos was the use of Wilson pre-selector gearboxes. But in the model it is a big omission. So I have to make it myself. Thanks, Ismael
  15. Hello, Back to this project. This looks more comfortable than my own sofa! ? Talbots always had a "T" in the clutch and the brake pedals. Never in the accelerator. The battery was too lonely... Thanks, Ismael
  16. Thank you all! Really appreciate the comments.
  17. Thank you all for your nice comments! Appreciate it! Thanks, Ismael
  18. What an impressive build! Absolutely stunning.
  19. Hello, This one is finished and posted under glass. https://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/190243-132-1937-chevy-convertible-box-stock/ Thanks, Ismael
  20. Hello, My first 100% BOX STOCK build in over 20-25 years! This is a Pyro 1/32 scale 1937 Chevy Convertible. This kit dates to the mid 60's. The kit is very basic and not the best candidate for superdetailing. So I went the other way: 100% Box stock. Everything here was in the box. Except of course for paint and glue ? You can see the progress thread here: https://race-car-models.proboards.com/thread/3350/finished-chevy-convertible-box-stock Quite a challenge. This model suffered several setbacks but I was able to overcome those and finish it. Very brittle plastic needed very careful handling. Cobra Colors Ultra Black Cobra Colors Rosso Barchetta Scalefinishes Clear Craft Acrylic interior and tires Spray can aluminum brightwork. The kit has no chrome parts. 1/32 Hope you like it! Your comments and feedback are appreciated. Did I mention it is Box Stock? Thanks, Ismael
  21. Hello, Entering the home stretch! By the way, in the background, that is a 1940's Wold A1 Airbrush... Thanks, Ismael
  22. Hello, This was close to finish. What happened? Well, this happened: Mating the upper and lower bodies, a very distinctive "CRRRRACK!!!" broke the silence. After a few choice words (and trust me, Spanish is sooo cursing rich far better than English), I went into repair mode. No, it is not perfect if you look close enough. The windshield frame also broke (already repaired) so this plastic does not like to be handled. Still need to get both parts permanently together. If it survives then it has a chance to be finished. Thanks, Ismael
  23. Hello, Remember this car was rear-ended by a low flying mosquito? I think I can stop polishing the trunk now and move to the rest of the car. Don't you think? Thanks, Ismael
  24. Hello, Shifter is a bit thick for my liking, but I promised myself this would be a BOX STOCK build. Plastic 2 piece wheel/tire. Can you tell which one is untouched and which one has a lot of work? Thanks, Ismael
  25. Hello, Amazing what paint can do to a lump of plastic. Box stock interior. 1/32 Thanks, Ismael
