  1. Very nice Tommy! I like it all, but especially the tubs! Keep us posted on the progress. Thanks,
  2. Welcome Tommy! If you haven't already, I want to invite you to check my site: ScaleCorvettes.com http://www.scalecorvettes.com Thanks,
  3. Impressive as usual. When I grow up I want to be like Mark, or get a ruler that big Where do you get delrin? I can't believe we threw away several tons (not thrown away, but sold as scrap I guess) when our factory closed  Thanks
  4. That's very nice. I love that color. My custom version of that car is almost done. Thanks,
  5. Hello, I've been quite busy lately, so progress on any modeling subject is slow. Here are the wheels, tires and brakes for the Ferrari 612ig custom Scaglietti I'm working on. I hope to have this model finished by the end of this week. Notice the front calipers (first pic) are larger than the back ones. I sanded down the molded in calipers on the front rotors and replaced with resin units from the parts box. The Brembo logos were printed in my computer. The valve stems are hard to see but they are there. As always, your comments are appreciated. Thanks,
  6. Hello, Here is another build from last year. Instead of your usual nicely loaded car, I wanted to do something different: A plain Jane, plain vanilla, cheap (relative) base model C6. So I modified the kit for a base 2005 model. Why would you do that? This could be either: - A car you would buy to modify extensively either for racing or customizing (show car, aftermarket demonstrator etc) - A dealer "bait" car to advertise "Brand new 2005 Corvettes starting at only $$$$" - A car you die for but can not afford, so you go to extremes to get it The important thing about this model is not what it has, but it does not: -NO body colored door handles. - No body colored 3rd brake lamp - Base 1SX Ebony seats, NOT 1SA or 1SB sport seats. - White paint. NOT extra cost paint like LeMans blue, Millenium Yellow or Magnetic red. - NO 1SB Heads Up Display (HUD). - NO F55 magnetic selective ride control option (knob behind shifter) - No navigation system - NO XM radio - NO CC3 transparent optional roof. Just the regular painted one. - Standard aluminum wheels. NOT QG7 polished or QX1 competition grey, or chrome. - Standard brakes with NO upgraded rotors from Z51 suspension option. More pics and details here: http://www.scalecorvettes.com/Corvette%20g...smaelc6/wht.htm Thanks,
  7. Hello, Here is another C6 I built last year. Again, some of you have seen it already. Cobra Colors Magnetic red tricoat paint. Rear hatch cut open. More pictutres and info here: http://www.scalecorvettes.com/Corvette%20g...smaelc6/mag.htm Thanks,
  8. Cool model Billy. That is a sort of grail of mine. I met John Tucker (Preston's son) last year and we had a very pleasant conversation. I also took many pics of the blue car in the Swigart museum. Thanks,
  9. Hello, This was the first model I finished in 2006. Some of you have seen it already. Yes, it's a full detail glue kit of a C6 convertible, No, Revell never released it. I combined the full detail glue kit of the coupe with the deck lid of a snap convertible. This is how it started. And this is how it finished: Cobra Colors LeMans blue, fully detailed engine bay with more than 25 added details, heavily modified C5 conv. top and a lot more. More pictures and detailed description here: http://www.scalecorvettes.com/Corvette%20g...nv/blueconv.htm Your comments are appreciated. Thanks,
  10. Nice. I've done a few of those. That's one of my favorite kits.
  11. WOW Mark, one week! It will take me longer than that just to get the primer right. And at then end it will not look as good! It looks great!
  12. Thanks Bob! Yes I got it. Maybe we should have applied for patent I like the tail light treatment. The side cove reminds me of the 456. I also agree with you on the wheels. My 612 should be finished within a week or two. Thanks, Ismael "the Corvette guy who also likes Ferraris" Gonzalez
  13. Hello, Here is a look at the sub-assemblies for the Ferrari 612ig. First, here is a pic of the body mods: I opened grilles in the fenders and plan to put a mesh there. I also added a bulge to the hood. The engine has more than 20 added details like fuel lines, wires, hoses, the actuator in the front, those "things" sticking upwards from the exhaust manifolds (which I have no idea what they are), clamps and many more. Yes, I spent a lot of time there knowing most of it will NOT be seen anyways.... Here is the painted body. Cobra Colors Oro Chiaro. Why gold? Because nothing represents wealth better than gold Chassis detail. Exhaust came out very nice with different shades of metals. Bottom panels, rocker panels, rear air difuser and front corner spoilers were painted to look like KEVLAR. "I am so rich and so desperate for attention, that I comissioned KEVLAR panels for the Ferrari. Why Kevlar? simply because Carbon Fiber is sooooo common everybody now has it, and also, KEVLAR has a golden tint to it doesn't it?" And of course you have seen the interiors. Now it is all a matter of putting everything together!!!! What do you think? Thanks, Ismael "the Corvette guy who also likes Ferraris" Gonzalez
  14. Hello, As some of you know, I'm working on a Revell Ferrari 612 Scaglietti. But I'm doing my own custom version. I'll post later pictures of the body, engine and chassis. The idea is to do a custom but to make it look like something the factory would do. (Coachbuild?) It will be called the 612ig (my initials) Here are the interiors. I mixed my own color from Testors enamels. The headrest were screaming for something so I added prancing horse logos. I hated the molded seatbelts but they didn't turned that bad. I added the seatbelts hardware, latches, back seats belts, speaker grilles and some other details. etc. Keep in mind these pics are bigger than actual size so every little imperfection looks bigger. Overall it looks better in person. As usual, I spent a lot of effort in the interiors knowing that most of it will not be seen anyways once assembled. But that's me What do you think? Thanks, Ismael "the Corvette guy who also likes Ferraris" Gonzalez
