  1. Very nice! That color scheme is a natural.
  2. Simon, Silver is to german cars like red to italian cars... a natural! Se ve bien........ Te llamo... Thanks, Ismael
  3. Very nice! Love the accesories in the back. That rake is different to the Arter's rake A distant relative of my wife has one in very VERY bad shape in a farm under a tree, and somebody just paid a lot of money for it for a restoration project. Thanks,
  4. That color is very hard to photograph. Mine looks red in almost all pictures as well. Only on a direct sunlight and/or slightly overexposed pic it will look orange. That's my favorite color for a C6 coupe. Thanks,
  5. Len, that is gorgeously beautiful. Is that Monterey red? I use Moon mud primer on all my Cobra Colors jobs. Before Moon mud, I used Plastikote T-235 with excellent results. Unfortunately, Plastikote disappeared from the face of the earth, at least here. I liked to use it as a "coarse" primer for general use and sanding, and then moon mud as a fine primer before color. But now is Moon mud only. Thanks,
  6. Update: OK, repaint idea is off. I was able to get most imperfections out with a little more elbow grease. There are still a few spots to take care of, but nothing major. Biggest "problem" so far is this: easy to fix with an airbrush pass. Thanks,
  7. Len, That color is yellow That is Cobra Colors Velocity Yellow, a factory correct finish. It is a bit more "lemony" than Millenium yellow, which is a little bit more "orangy". Thanks,
  8. As another Ferrari enthusiast myself, welcome!
  9. Hello, Here we go again, picking up where we left 2 weeks ago. I continued polishing the Z06 body. There are a few spots that may need some additional care but PLEASE help me get away from the stupid idea of a repaint. I'll try to take some pics in natural daylight tomorrow. That's it for now. It's good to be back, even if it's only for a few minutes Thanks,
  10. Thanks Peter! I had a vague idea but you made it clear. I'm trying that on my current build. Thanks,
  11. We are the same age: (1970) These are my kids, and no that is not forced labor.... Thanks,
  12. Wow That is GREAT information. I have no interest on the subject, but it was so interesting and your attention to detail is so intense I went thru it completely. Don't worry about the language. It was clear enough. Thanks,
  13. Mr. Tom Carter: You are such a class act my friend! Whenever I've been asked why I'm no longer active on the HHMB I always make the note that I support H/H and I have a great deal of admiration for you, what you have done, for what you are doing and for working so hard to keep it clean. Cheers,
  14. Brian, Not only it looks great, but the first picture is so realistic I thought it was a 1:1 reference pic. Great job! She's a keeper! Thanks,
  15. Mark, As usual, I can't find words beyond WOW! Your work is in a class by itself. How did you do the toggle switches? Also, in the last picture, the third gauge from left to right, Does the pointer pivots down the bottom like the first one? Thanks,
  16. That's coming along very nicely. The inboard front brakes setup is interesting. It looks like it could have been developed into an all wheel drive setup. Looking forward to see it finished. Thanks,
  17. Never mind. I found the continuation part video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JXjjpQwHDI4...ar%20Koenigsegg Thanks,
  18. Whaaaat? :x WOW that's wild.... The video stops way too soon. I wonder how much damage it sustained. It didn't look like a violent life-threatening wreck but been all carbon fiber it certainly must have suffered..... Anyone has more info on that? Was the guy hurt? Thanks,
  19. Hmmmm, I've used the masking tape trick before, but the acetate trick looks like worth a try......
  20. Nice build Lyle! I Love to see more and more C6 built.... Thanks,
  21. Charlie, I'm late to the party but I also vote for the 360. I built this Tamiya 360 coupe and it just fell together. It's a great kit to work with. Cobra Colors Giallo Modena Thanks,
  22. Leon, You have a magic hand to lay down beautiful paint jobs. That car really looks GREAT in that color. I finally got my hands into the elusive Fujimi Gallardo and I hope to make it justice with your Giallo Midas Pearl. Thanks,
  23. LEON!!!!! Welcome!!!!! What a nice surprise to see you here! Just got back from a little over a week out and I was really suffering internet retirement: sweaty hands, shaking and all. 8) Looking forward to your posts! Thanks, Ismael "a Cobra Colors Cheerleader" Gonzalez
  24. Chris, One of the advantages of using lacquers like Cobra Colors is that they are harder than hobby paints, and can withstand the rigors of polishing better. That doesn't mean you don't have to be careful with edges etc. But it is more forgiving. Another advantage is that if you do run into a problem it can be touched up and blended. My suggestion is to go slowly, and since you already have a good foundation, start with higher pads like 6000 or so and see how it goes. If you are using liquid polishes, start with the finer ones and see how it goes. I hope to be back by the 24th and continue with the body polish. BTW, did you get my reply to ther PM? Thanks,
  25. Hello, I have what some may call a polishing ritual. Whenever I start polishing a model, I do the hood first, all the way to the finish. Then I start with the rest of the body. Here is the polished Z06 hood. No waxing yet, just polish. Now I need to focus on the body. Too bad I'm going out of town tomorrow for at least a week. I was thinking about a dehydrator. Then I realize it took me 3 weeks to finally get a chance to polish the body. So I'll spend that money on wheels I hope to get back soon! Thanks,
