First of all, isn't insanity GREAT? I remembered that about 10 years ago, I took apart a Hot Wheels Ferrari 308 to do the same car I'm doing now. Found it, stripped it (old Testors enamel) and painted it to match the 1/24. So now this is about a 1/3 scale model of the 1/25 scale model 308 I'm building. (OK, it is a 1/2.66 scale of the 1/24 but who's counting?) STOP ME BEFORE I HURT MYSELF!!!!! I already have plans for its "presentation" Thanks,

Very cool project! It's coming along really nice. The roof is a vast improvement. That's a subject you don't see very often. Thanks,

Hello, I want to do something to fit in between the factory stock Z06 and the C6-R. How about an SCCA T1 club racer? I've never done a roll cage before, so any time saving tips are appreciated. Other than the roll cage, plans are for racing seats and harness, racing wheels and tires, maybe a rear wing, and minor dash / engine / chassis / suspension upgrades. This should still be a street legal car, so it needs full exhaust and emissions systems, lights, glass etc. This will most likely be a long term project. As if I didn't have enough.... Thanks,

Hello, From the department of redundancy department: The 308 is clear for clear. This color is very hard to photograph. It looks way much better in person. I atached the front fascia / bumper / underpan / whatever but left the back one because I still need to mask and paint the bumper black. A first for me: Emblem foil before primer/paint. I keep polishing it after each coat to prevent heavy buildup. It came out good. Keep in mind the pic is larger than actual size. Haven't done anything on the interiors or any other area, so it is still a long way to go. Thanks,

Hello, I have this idea turning in my mind and it won't go away. I would like to do a model of a club racer. Something you would race in SCCA or similar clubs. Other than a rear wing, slicks, roll cage and decals, what would be needed to make a club racer? I searched the web for rules but did not find anything specific. Any idea where to look or where to start? Thanks, Ismael

I like to deepen the panel lines with the back of a #11 blade. That makes it easier for an acrylic wash afterwards. I use a very dilluted black wash. After dry, any excess is very easy to clean up with a polishing cloth. Your mileage may vary. Thanks,

Passport? Isn't that a radar detector? No you don't need it, unless you plan to hop from here anywhere else Let me know the date so I can block it in the calendar. Thanks,

Thanks Bob, I tried that once but I could never make the ink to flow evenly. I don't remember what brand pen I used, but it was a .005 as well. I got only short lines, and when I tried to join them it would blotch. Any idea why this happened? Any tips? I'll look for it to try again. Thanks,

None to report. However, I'm using Moon mud primer which has never caused that problem. Thanks,

Hello, Continuing the full assault on the workbench, I started the C6R. Close inspection reveals mold lines and a few low spots that need attention. I worked on it and had the first coat of Moon mud primer. Still a bit more work before final primer and color. Revell kits are very good, but it is no secret they are not yet in the Tamiya neighborhood when it comes to clean straight bodies. Thanks,

Hello, The Ferrari 308 GTB got its first color coat. Cobra Colors California Azzurro Metallic. After the first light coat, I did a medium coat. It looks so good it can almost go to clear now. But I'll let it sit and will check it carefully tomorrow and continue with color coats. The picture is horrible. It looks a gazillion times better in person than in the pic. Thanks,

Hello, I can not explain it but chassis and underside detailing is one of my favorite parts of this hobby. One of these days, I will end up displaying my models upside down This is the chassis for the C5 Z06. Note the exhaust is titanium, not aluminum. The transmission is a resin T-56 I casted years ago. I sold a bunch of these back then, but this is the first time I actually use one Still pending: Brakes. I machined the rotors and now I'm working on the calipers. Thanks,

Nice looking Monte Carlo! That's one of my favorite years Monte. The wheels are perfect for it. I'm not a big fan of green, but the only green car I've ever done is that exact same color Thanks,

Honestly, I love it. For been a 25 million people city, (YES, 25 million) other than traffic, it is a beautiful city. It has been raining for a while so even pollution was down. Plus the people is great. I have many good friends. And the food is GREAT!!!! This was the best trip there to date. It was very nice. But I didn't have time to look for a hobby shop Thanks,
