  1. Maybe because I'm used to work on models late at night after everybody is asleep, I need absolute DEAD silence. I want to hear my brain saying "the other way you stupid!" Thanks,
  2. Looking good! Is it true that you started it when that car was new?
  3. Hello gang, I just finished this and I had a TON of fun doing it. More pics and details here:  http://puertoriconet.com/images/aircraft/sh60b/ Thanks,
  4. Hello, OK, I know, this is not a car and this is the model CAR forum, but don't worry, this is the only post I'll do about it. Anyways here I go: I'm taking a break from cars. I have a few non-automotive projects on the bench now. This is the primary project: A 1/100 scale SH-60B Seahawk Helicopter. (I keep hearing Pixar CARS Mater's voice saying he has always wanted to fly in one of those fancy helicopters ) This thing is small! A little over 5 inches long overall. But you know me, I can't just simply slap it together. I just machined a rotor mast and I'm replacing the swash plate links and will scratchbuild a rescue winch and add antennas, cables sensors etc. Should be finished before year's end. Thanks,
  5. Arrowhead Aluminum makes very nice parts. http://www.arrowheadaluminum.com Duane is not only a talented machinist, but also a very nice guy. Thanks,
  6. Oi Marcelo! Muito bom!! Eu espero ver mais do seu trabalho.. O'brigado,
  7. Well Mark, I ran out of words about this project long ago... What paint did you use for the body? I absolutely love that color. Thanks,
  8. The battle has been intense but I'm winning so far. At the end, 3 cars, 2 airplanes and 1 spacecraft were severly damaged. The cars were saved, and it seems 1 of the airplanes (a rare 1/100 Doyusha Concorde) will make it. The other airplane and the Saturn 5 rocket are not out of the woods yet.... Only good thing about this is that I found models I didn't even remember having and some of them made it to the workbench. So I'll be away from cars until about Christmas... Thanks,

    BAD BOYS

That's cool! Where are those cop figures from? I suppose that is 1/25 scale, right? Thanks,
  10. WOW! That is looking sooo good! Looking forward to see more of it. Thanks,
  11. Hello, I've always heard good things about Time Machine resins. Jeff is a nice guy. I just got the parts and they are absolutely beautiful. I got a few hoods ('64 Vette, '67 small block Vette, '68 small block Vette among others) and several wheels ('64, '65, '66, '70 Vette hubcaps, '57 and '59 dog dishes) The casting is superb in white resin. No flash and cleanup if any, would be minimal. They look like styrene parts to the untrained eye. Very nice parts! I'm very happy! Here is their link: http://www.timemachineresin.bravehost.com/ Thanks,
  12. Very nice Jeff! I can hear the Bee Gees on the radio
  13. What a great album Matt! They were all great but the class that really blew my mind away was the closed wheel racing. Impossible to pick just one favorite! Thanks,
  14. VERY glad to hear that. A very important and respected aftermarket supplier. I hope he brings out a C5/C6 Corvette detail set  Thanks,
  15. AAARRRGGGHHH!!!!!!! Looking for some decals for an aircraft model, I noticed one of the back boxes in the stash had something that looked like little "ants" TERMITES!!! and a lizzard's nest made their way into my aircraft stash, which is in a closet next to the cars stash. I had to take each box out and inspect everything. At least 2 models have been lost, and I'm not finished yet :x I also need to check the car's stash, but it should be OK because it has always been active. Check your stash every once in a while, especially those back boxes that have been there for years. Thanks,
  16. Hello, I would go with lacquer. If you use enamel clear, it will yellow over time, more sooner than later. Lacquer is usually harder so it can be buffed and polished more aggresively. Been a solid color, clear is not mandatory, but I recommend using it as an extra precaution. Lacquer clear should not yellow over time. Lacquer however, usually requires primer because it is very hot. But I've heard people spraying Tamiya lacquer over bare plastic. I've never tried it. Hope this helps. Thanks,
  17. My friend, Such a motive as inspiration deserves great respect. The paint job looks very smooth so I think it is going in the right direction. Thanks,
  18. Hello James, Welcome aboard! The car model hobby in general, usually leans towards muscle cars (Mopars in particular) and hot rods. Those have always been very popular. But you'll find here a bit of everything. From modern factory stock (me) to customs, tuners, muscle era, classics, early iron, racing, trucks, off road, motorcycles etc. etc. The beauty of this is that you can find inspiration in something you never thought about, and who knows, you may end up building something totally different. Enjoy! Thanks,
  19. Bill, Both came out great! I think my favorite is the GP version Thanks,
  20. Looking good! Bienvenido al forum...
  21. Nice work Matt! I was hoping to meet you (and your C6-R ) last month when I was in Atlanta, but you were in the middle of the move. I hope that went smooth. Thanks,
  22. Ohhhh that will be a beauty! Excellent choice for a box stock build. Great subject and a wonderful kit. And yes, black IS a pain. Looking GREAT so far! Thanks,
  23. That will depend on many factors, including personal preference, thinning ratio, equipment etc. In my case I use 20-22 for lacquers, 22-25 for enamels and 25-30 for primers. Thanks,
  24. Looking good. Welcome to the forum! Many good modelers from Norway. Thanks,
  25. Hello, Now here is something I started almost 10 years ago and was forgotten in the back of the stash. I found it a few days ago. My 1937 FordVette. The idea is to have a '37 Ford body and chassis with everything else Corvette. This is the '37 Ford model with the little trailer. It comes with the drivetrain already. I opened the doors and trunk, and plan to use either a '73 or C5 interiors. If I use the '73 it will be called the 3773 wired and plumbed. Scratchbuilt rear shocks. Aluminum driveshaft. Many shades of metallics. Full brackets. I HATE to see alternators in the air The engine has lost some of the wing bolts. complete fuel line and engine wiring Here is a mock up. I took a little break from cars and I'm currently working on some aircraft, but it shouldn't be long. What do you think? Thanks,
