  1. Is #118 out? I subscribed a few months ago so I hope that one to be my first mailed issue.
  2. Hello, If you really want to make your chopper a one of a kind, you can customize the custom parts . I wanted a fat tank so I took the one in the kit, cut it in the middle but not completely, so it will be like an inverted pie section. Styrene trip to hold putty, putty and you are almost there. For the bottom, just use strips of styrene to recreate the channel. There you go, more fuel for the chopper!!! Thanks,
  3. Gas Tank: Take 2 After finishing my own tank, I was not really in love with it. I made a second one so I could choose. I like the second one better. I'm having fun with this. Too bad I'm leaving now for a week. 'Till next year! Thanks,
  4. Very nice! I wish I could do decals half as good... Is the car black or very dark blue?
  5. Very cool! I like the wheels a lot!
  6. Confundido tal vez, pero mareado no
  7. More progress on the tank: After all this effort, it looks way to close to the other one included in the kit  I don't exactly love it. I guess I'll try to do another one and decide later.... Thanks,
  8. Efrain, It looks good. I like the grilles. The engine and interiors look very cleanly built. Are the headlight covers blacked out? If so, I would suggest to paint the edge of the headlight opening in the body black as well. The rest looks great. Contact me by PM. I want to talk to you. Chequea tus mensajes priv. Gracias,
  9. Very cool indeed!
  10. First a disclaimer: This is Jairus fault. Second: I am a total ignorant when it comes to motorcycles. I haven't even ridden one (unless you consider a 50cc moped a bike). So I have no clue as to where this is going. All I know is that I'll use the frame, engine and wheels, with everything else a toss up. Frame went together nicely. Yes the kit has 2 tanks. But I want my own tank. Extra points if you guess what this started out as... I want my bike to have a tail light. This means the fender can not go in the original location. I have many ideas for this. Too bad I'll be out of town next 2 weeks or so. It is nice to build something YOUR way. Even if it makes no sense Thanks,
  11. I totally agree. I guess my point is that the subject is not that important (at least to me) to justify all the extra work. Having this been a grail of sorts, I'd be busy fixing it  Now, where's that Revell chopper bike?
  12. HA! I feel the same way when I see something from Mark Jones, or Bill Geary or many other greats... Thanks for the compliments  Thanks,
  13. If the sink marks were consistent, it would have made an interesting set of wheels The chrome is not very good but I usually strip it anyways. Fixable? yes. Worth spending the time and effort in fixing them? I guess not Thanks,
  14. One word: UNUSABLE!!!
  15. Hello, I'm in a "confusion" state in the hobby. I took a break from cars for a while, and all of a sudden, I have 2 helicopters, 1 armored self propelled howitzer, 2 airliners, a revell chopper bike and now the concept Camaro all on the workbench at the same time... For the first time in years I'm not focused on one main project. I'm just jumping from one to another. I started dealing with the sink marks on the Camaro. Still have no idea where to go with it. Nine sink marks and those panel lines were too big. Thanks,
  16. OK, so I've joined the club. I hope to have it finished by the Feb. deadline. My idea is to keep the frame, wheels and engine, everything else is a toss up. I'm a total motorcycle ignorant, so I have no idea what the heck I'm doing I hold Jairus responsible for this. This is totally his fault. Thanks,
  17. Question on behalf of a friend: Has anyone sprayed Duplicolor clear over Plastikote paint? Both spray cans. I guess it would be ok since the plastikote is acrylic lacquer and it's pretty tough, but I'm not sure. I suggested to try it on a scrap piece first, but I'd like to know if anyone here has done it. Thanks,
  18. Very nice '55! Nice blend of C6 touches to it.
  19. Hello, Ever since we saw the movie CARS my 6 yrs old son is hooked with Ferraris. Like Luiggi said "A REAL FERRARI!!!!" He is always on the lookout on the road for Corvettes and Ferraris Since yellow is his favorite car color (at least this month ), Santa had a hard time tracking down a yellow Maisto Ferrari kit for him. The original idea was a F430 but Santa could only find an Enzo. Oh well... The girl wanted a piece of the action, so she was asked to help with a wheel TaDa!!!!!! Proudly showing it in dad's display case. These kits really serve a purpose: Paving the way for greater things. But I don't think he is ready for a Tamiya Enzo yet Thanks,
  20. That's a very cool Grand Sport inspired paint scheme. It suits that car very well! Good job!
  21. Very interesting results. Quite different to my own ranking. I'll let the poll go until the 31st, but it shouldn't change that much. Thanks,
  22. Looking good Bill! I'm out of town but I'll write a longer note later. This is one of my all time favorite kits. Watch out for the soft plastic. Plastikote, VX and Moon Mud primers work fine. I had problems with Duplicolor. Also watch out for the front driver's side wheel alignment. I also found out that it is easier to install the headlights separated. I cut them into 3 individual parts. I've built 3 but I have the itch to do another one, this time Atomic Orange with tan/black interiors. Looking forward to see yours built!!! Thanks,
  23. Speaking of grails, I just got this in the mail, all the way from Ukraine!! I won this auction only 2 weeks ago. I really thought these would take months to arrive.
  24. This is a 10x stereo-microscope used in electronics inspections. I don't think it will be much useful in the workbench but it looks good
  25. Hello, Inspired by the work of others, like Tom (stingray69), I would like to try brass soldering and do a simple roll cage or something like that. This is my first attempt. It is not perfect, but I was not expecting it to be in the first try. Now I need to practice a bit more and play with temp settings, technique and all that. This is 1/8" tubing. I'm trying to find rod so it will be easier to bend to shape. Thanks,
