AHHHHRRRGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!! I just superglued it in place a few minutes ago  Airbrushing from the inside while attached sounds risky....... but i'll think about it Thanks, -
Prepping resin for chrome paint
ismaelg replied to Casey429's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Hi, Three easy steps: 1) Make sure the part is at least 10 miles away from any grease, wax, dirt or any other foreign material. In other words: squeaky clean 2) Don't stop at sanding it smooth. Polish it! Any small imperfection, sanding line or flaw will be amplified at least 10 times. 3) Take it easy and don't rush it 4) Have fun! Thanks, -
That's sinister nice Chris I had the oportunity to drive a Japanese spec Evo 7 that belongs to a friend (race car driver) in Jamaica. With over 300 hp and all wheel drive, that thing rocks! Thanks,

Windshield tinting A LA Steve Milberry *TAKE 2*

Thanks Bill. Yes that is Tamiya Royal blue acrylic. It is easy to remove and the thinner will not harm the clear plastic. Not that I've stripped it 5 times already Thanks, -
Windshield tinting A LA Steve Milberry *TAKE 2*

Hello again, I stripped it completely and started all over again. I aimed at half the size of the original one. I checked some 1:1 reference pics and it seems to be roughly the right size. The windshield is not permanently installed. Just taped in place. It should go up 1 or 2 mm more. What do you think? Thanks, -
I don't know much about the subject, but this model has the right look to it. It looks GREAT! Thanks,

Cool! I've been looking for a 330 either P3 or P4 for a long time. I'd love to do the yellow car in the Victory by design DVD... -
Hello, First a DISCLAIMER: This is my first attempt at this. Steve is in my list of favorite modelers I admire. His Beaumont is one of my favorites. Something I REALLY like from his creations is the top of the windshield tint. He made a phototutorial he has posted more than once. Well, here is my plunge into the unknown. I think it came a tad wider than I wanted, but it is either keep it or strip it all and forget about it. What do you think? Keep it or lose it? Thanks,

Is that a 330 P3? (panting) -
Very nice Marcos! You are absolutely right: If it can move you from A to B, we'll race it Thanks,

I haven't heard anything about those. I would have been interested in a 328 GTS, but not much at that price.... Do you know when will these be released? Thanks, -

Current Corvette project - Finished! September 3
ismaelg replied to Mr. Can Am Garage's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Those wheelcovers look really good John! The car looks GREAT! If I may offer a suggestion if it is not too late: the tires are way too shiny. A light sanding on the tread will tone it down a bit. Just a suggestion. Thanks, -
Body work ... expert help needed, please!
ismaelg replied to ismaelg's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Consistent results. That's why I gave up with spray cans years ago. The only times I use spray cans are with Plastikote T235 primer, which I use as a quick coarse general purpose primer, and I always have a can of hardware store flat black enamel for chassis tops, inside bodies etc. Other than that, I airbrush everything else. I tried once transferring from a spray can to a bottle, but it was a massive or should I say MESSive failure  Thanks, -
Hello, To say Red plastic has been defeated is an understatement! This time by a knockout on 4 rounds. (primer, color, clear, polish) This color is hard to photograph. The flash bounces wildly over the metallic particles making it look "dusty" (second pic), while natural light (first and 3rd pics) show it a bit darker and silvery than it actually is. It is a bit more blueish. It was cloudy and dark outside, so I hope to eventually get pics on bright sunlight. I love this color. From a distance it looks like a candy blue over silver. Now to the tedious task of masking and painting all the fine black trim. As always, your thoughts and comments are appreciated. Thanks,

Red White & Blue Paint Schemes?
ismaelg replied to RowdyYates's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
This is the closest I can get to that: red white and blue (or blue and white ) -
Looking good Ben! That is one of my favorite cars of that era. In my opinion, the last great Buick......

Sounds GREAT! I think I'll be in the Suwanee area, which should be only about 30-40 miles from Smyrna... correct? -
I have never used Evercoat, but it could be the putty is not fully cured or dry. Before primer, do you feel the transition with your finger? If it shows in the primer it will show in the paint. Maybe you can try sanding with finer grain sandpaper until the transtion can not be felt. I use Milliput fine grain putty and it feathers very nicely. I use either Plastikote or Moon mud primer. I don't know if this helps much, but I hope so. Thanks,

Beautiful craftsmanship! Love to see your paint jobs

Marc, That's a nice subject. Keep us posted. A good friend on mine had one, bright orange with light grey interiors. It was a cool car and it took him all thru college and then some more. I'd love to see the wide body Starion as well. That was a cool car. BUT: I'd kill for a model of my first car: A 1979 Toyota Corolla which I still own today. Thanks,

Very nice! This will now be in the dictionary as part of the definition of Pro-Touring.

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN: Presenting: Finished Z06 *PICS*
ismaelg replied to ismaelg's topic in WIP: Model Cars
WOW! I'm honored for all the nice comments about my work. I just got a call from the guy responsible for getting me back into model cars about 10 years ago (after my incursion in aircraft). His '53 and '65 Corvette models are still today an inspiration to me. He saw this post and called to ask me a few questions about polishing and other details and told me I was inspiring him! That's one of the biggest compliments I've received!! I'm really honored! Thanks,
