  1. After the championship season was over, Williams toured the car on shows for a few years. While on tour in the US, I acquired the car from them for an undisclosed amount, but it was a bit deteriorated, so I re-painted it in Corvette blue because I like it better than the original blue. That's my story and I stick to it :P :D
  2. Glad to help Greg! Here is the thread on my FW19 build on this forum. forum build thread ...and this is the thread in our spanish forum. It's in spanish but there are more pictures here of the progress than in the first one. build thread This is the thread on the finished model. F1 is not the most popular subject in this forum so there was very little response to it. That's why I'm excited to see another fan! finished thread I currently have on the workbench among many other projects, 2 Indy cars and the Revell Germany 2005 Ferrari F1. But I haven't done anything on that Ferrari yet. Thanks!
  3. Greg, I found videos where it shows the car using the bitburger sponsorship in Japan and Australia, the last 2 races of the season in '94. But the wings are hard to see. Adelaide 94 Japanese GP 94 Third to last (Europe GP at Jerez) show Benetton side pods. Thanks,
  4. France is one of the places where tobacco is banned from advertising in cars even as sponsors. Let me dig the 1994 schedule and see if I can find pics of the last races of that year. I just finished a few weeks ago the 1/24 Villeneuve's '97 FW19 championship car in the French GP livery. more pics here Glad to see another open wheel fan!!! Thanks,
  5. Hi Greg, I like F1 but I'm far from an expert. As far as I know the B194 raced with either Benetton, Minichamps or Oracle markings on the sidepods. I believe (but don't quote me on this) the Bitburger sponsorship came with the B195 Renault powered car the following year. This is a B195 at Silverstone in 1995. You can see the sidepods (and most of the bodywork) are totally different. Thanks,
  6. Beautiful! I love the engine, especially the stacks. Great job!
  7. Rich, That model is known to carry a deadly virus and it is very dangerous! I am certified to do the proper disposition, so pack it up carefully and send it to me for disposal! I've never seen the UMI up close, but I remember seeing pictures of a nicely built sample a while back, so I think it should be buildable. How much effort, I don't know. Do you have more pictures of the body and the parts? I'm curious. Thanks,
  8. This is not a Vodoo doll, nor I'm practicing automotive accupuncture or anything like that. I'm filling out pinholes in resin. This project needs more attention than previously thought. Still workable but after working with perfect resin....... Plenty more to do yet....... but easy does it..... Thanks,
  9. Thanks Rich, wow that Z06 tranny brings a lot of good memories! No pics today, but the roof was refinished... for the 3rd time!!! It's now resting before polishing and..... why not? maybe a 4th time Thanks,
  10. Funny you mention blue. I also want to do a dark blue "Pebble beach" or "Amelia Island" type car...
  11. WOW Jim! Great minds think alike! No wonder you are one of my favorite builders! Actually, I was thinking on Luigi Musso's Targa Florio winner which is very similar. But I think I'll start with von Trips/Hawthorn 3rd place car to warm up. That looks ABSOLUTELY GREAT! I'll be following up closely and yes, I'll learn from you a lot! Thanks for sharing!
  12. The more I work on this car the more I love this kit! What a joy to work with! I really wish Quick Skins can come back. Last I heard he was in the process of getting a new place and start again. The back end is ready. The tires are for proportion purposes only. I haven't worked on them yet. Added oil line. need to retouch the red line. Heading out of town now so I want to take this opportunity to wish you all a Happy Easter! Thanks,
  13. In that pic the wing is only supported by the airbrush cup. There is nothing else touching it. There is a square polishing pad laying flat behind the car. Maybe that's what you mean?
  14. Hi Mal, You mean in this pic? For this mockup the rear spoiler was supported by an exotic "airbrush cup" Thanks,

    Imsa Anyone?

Great job on both! Both are super cool! I love IMSA. Those were the "Cars of Tomorrow" back then. I hope to finish my GTP soon.... Thanks,
  16. Ferrari 599 Fiorano....
  17. Group B Audi S1 Quattro?
  18. Hello, Since all the attention was on the body, I forgot I still had to do the rest of the car So here is the start of what will not be seen afterwards everybody needs a hug exhaust, heat shields and back of transaxle. Still a loooong way to go..... Thanks,
  19. While not exactly an answer to your question, pro-drivers develop their own techniques and sharpen them with experience. For example, although a bit different scenario, Walter Rohrl did not use heel and toe but he was so fast with his feet it was like having a foot for each pedal. Thanks,
  20. Very very nice! That's exactly how I envision mine to end up. Great job. I love it! Thanks for sharing. Thanks,
  21. Trans Am racing Camaro? 67-68?
  22. That's the next step. I'll try using the decal stripes. Thanks,
  23. 1936 Stout Scarab. The first minivan....
  24. Hello, OK, enough fooling around. Time to get serious. Back to this project: Just like in the movies where somebody gets face surgery and there is always a dramatic scene carefully and slowly getting the bandages out and seeing the results for the first time: Was it a success? a failure? . . . . . WOHOO! It's a success! No major touch up seems to be needed. The roof needs some buffing but if it comes to worst, re-painting the roof is the least difficult task. Masking the separation lines on the colors worked great. This is far from over but it's going in the right direction. Thanks,
