Hello, I am mostly a factory stock modeler, but I have found myself doing more racing subjects lately. I've had the Accurate Miniatures Grand Sport Corvette kit for years and I think I may need to start working on it sooner or later. I've heard many different things about the kit: Some frame rails needs to be filled, something interferes and doesn't fit, maybe the headers or something, ride height needs tweaking, etc. I know some of you have already built it so what's your impression? How do you like it? What needs to be looked at carefully? How about the many aftermarket items for them? Any comments or suggestions? Yes, I've seen pictures of Jim Drew's Grand Sport but he is from another planet Right Jim? Thanks,

Hello again, This model includes 2 sets of wings (front and rear) so it can be built in either oval (smaller wings) or road course (bigger wings) configurations. Of course I want to build it as it ran in the Indy 500, the Mother of all races. But the rear wing is not completely accurate according to my scarce reference material on this car. The end plates are the wrong shape, size, location and thickness. So out came "Trusty Rusty" and quickly did the dirty job... I'll eventually scratchbuild the correct end plates. Thanks,

Hello, I HATE gluing parts to a painted surface. More so if the part has any kind of structural load. Gluing the parts before painting is not always a viable alternative. That's the case with the suspension on this car. So I took out my smallest drill bit, and ended up pining the A arms. I can say I have put blood into this build. I hurt myself not once but twice doing this. Thanks,

Hello!!! I'm very happy! This is my grail for 2008. I like the final product. The Quick Skins kit is such a joy to work with! The only minor "inconvenience" I had was the right rear tire that needed some persuation to get in place. The model represents chassis # HU-710/01 as it raced in Road Atlanta on April 6, 1986 where it won the race, took the pole with a track record of 1:12:001 and set the fastest lap of the race at 1:14:410. Yes, I know they use UHF communications in Atlanta but I couldn't resist adding the VHF antenna This is what the general public sees when I open the garage. The GTP book is always available for reference. But my friends (all of you) have more access Quick Skins kit Cobra Colors white, silver and black paint, Cobra Colors clear Scratchbuilt fender louvers, antenna and aluminum radiator baffles (the photoetch ones did not cooperate) Added oil lines to transaxle Full interior with full harness, dash gauges, electronics boxes /wiring and fire suppression system Front brakes cooling ducts (orange) Wall posters from its racing era and a 2008 Corvette Racing Calendar I hope you approve and enjoy it as much I did building it! Hello, Ford announced that it will challenge the 2 seater market (Miata, Solstice, S2000) with a retro design based on the 1965 Galaxie 500 convertible. Since it will be a shorter version it will be called the Galaxie 50 The design is locked but they forgot a small detail. They are now looking for a suitable engine that fits. Options may include a Briggs and Stratton OHV engine. Aerodynamics were not really considered in the project. Whatever it is, it is. Expect the car to be late, underpowered and overweight. Thanks,

OK, I'll be very honest: I'm falling in love with this car Once the red stripes are finished I'll check if any touch up is needed. I'm heading out for the weekend (I'll be camping and playing boy scout ) but I'm confident this car can be finished within the next two or three weeks. After the championship season was over, Williams toured the car on shows for a few years. While on tour in the US, I acquired the car from them for an undisclosed amount, but it was a bit deteriorated, so I re-painted it in Corvette blue because I like it better than the original blue. That's my story and I stick to it :P :D

Greg, I found videos where it shows the car using the bitburger sponsorship in Japan and Australia, the last 2 races of the season in '94. But the wings are hard to see. Adelaide 94 Japanese GP 94 Third to last (Europe GP at Jerez) show Benetton side pods. Thanks,
