  1. Thanks everybody! Jay, This started out as Revell's plastic Uptown Cadillac STS-V. Here is a pic of the box from Pat Redmond's Fotki: (I hope Pat doesn't mind) While this is a plastic kit, the origins of the molds were intended for a diecast. With the soaring price of diecast materials (zinc, zamac etc) and maybe also a soft market, they decided to run it in plastic. Here is a link to the progress thread of mine: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=7063 Thanks,
  2. Thanks all! Forgot to mention about the license plate: "Papi" in spanish means daddy. My father signs "Papy" whenever he gives me a greeting card or even on emails. I'm not sure whether he has always mis-spelled it or just changed it as a personal style I'll ask him today. If I ever hit the lotto (big time, not just a few little millions) this is something I would buy for him. Thanks,
  3. Thank you all for the nice comments! Bob is right. Those are Pegasus Vantage 23s. They were gold with chrome outer rims. I painted the centers aluminum plate buffing metalizer and left the rim chrome. I replaced the tires with meatier ones from the parts box. I also like how the door handles came out. Thanks,
  4. And another Caribbean home run! Good job Made! These cars has always been popular here, especially in the drag racing scene..... If you go to youtube and search "drag racing puerto rico" you'll see plenty of stuff....... Thanks,
  5. While I like the original paint scheme, this new paint job looks superb! I'm so proud to see modelers from our island hitting home run after home run! Good job Danny! Thanks,
  6. Hello, First things first: You need to take this model for what it is: A modified plastic model based on a diecast tooling. Despite the effort, it could go only so far due to it's nature. This was more of a fun exercise. Tail lights, headlights, chassis, suspension etc. are limited in details. But it's done and I like it! My Anti-Bling Cadillac STS-V Corporate Jet edition Grapefruit tree in my back yard. Garage door was open I tried to eliminate the tail lights pin marks with no success. That's what I like least of this build. Oh well, they look light bulbs Specs: (play along ok?) Supercharged and modified Northstar engine producing 750 hp Adjustable suspension from soft to race firm Massive cross drilled brake rotors and 6 piston monoblock aluminum Brembo calipers Lightweight wheels Hi-Speed satellite data link (roof antenna) for full internet access plus secure encrypted data transfers, NAV, XM, On-star etc Bose Ultra Super Premium Plus sound system DVD player integrated to sound system Computer interface to use DVD screens as monitors Special wipers designed to operate BEYOND Autobahn speeds Remote Keyless entry and ignition Tinted windows for privacy Emissions inspection sticker This car lapped Road Atlanta in the 1:45 range with street tires Who said older cars get all the fun? I challenge any old muscle car for a performance shootout. 0-60, 1/4 mile, braking, 1 lap at Road Atlanta, sound system, internet access, comfort after 1,000 miles, fuel economy, you name it etc. Thanks,
  7. Thanks Greg, Well, yes. But the FORCE is strong with my 2 sisters. They do whatever they want with me. If she wants it she will end up with both Thanks,

    mustang gtp

Best part is I'll get to see it personally
  9. Hello, Yes, like the title says: With so little modeling time, nothing like a 1 and a half days project. Of course this is not a car. I can explain: I've always been a Star Wars freak. But my sister is just as much or worst. She brought me 2 AT-ST models over the weekend. One for me and one for me to build for her. This is hers. 100% box stock, not even putty on the seams. This will go on a shelf with hundreds of other stuff. Of course I will open the hatches on mine and scratchbuild the interior, add details and get frustrated with it and put it away and get it out 3 years after etc. etc. The figure is from a 1/48 airplane for size reference. Gray and aluminum paint, black, brown and green washes, chrome silver drybrushing. It looks like a loose chicken on my yard Thanks,
  10. As I said, He's BAAaacckk!!! Nice job... Hope to see it soon. Regards,
  11. Hello, The much anticipated new Ferrari has finally been revealed! The GT California is said to be the first Ferrari ever to have a front mounted V8. The 4.3 liter engine produces 460 hp. The car will have a 7 speed dual clutch gearbox. The dual clutch concept seems to be gaining popularity Now the question is: What company will bring it out the model first? Thanks,
  12. Nice bunch! The 360 is my favorite by a long shot. Keep us posted on the progress of them all... Thanks,

    993 AD CAR

Nice car! I'll follow up this one. Thanks,
  14. After seeing several 1:1s I couldn't leave the rear window pillars alone. They are way too thick on the model. So even after the body was painted and polished, I took the risk and carefully removed them. I then replaced with thin quarter round stock. Thanks,
  15. Hello, Modeling time has been very Very VERY limited these days. I drew some Bose premium speakers in my computer and printed them. Anti-bling doesn't mean no sound system. I gotta have my Van Halen...... Thanks,
  16. Nice job on a beautiful car! Thanks,
  17. Hello, I'm sorry to inform there will be NO promos in 2008. I was inquiring yesterday about the 2008 Indy Pace car but my promo guru/dealer came back today with the bad news after inquiring to the manufacturers. There are however plans to have 2009 promos done, so I still hope to see 2008 Indy Pace cars. Thanks,
  18. Simply WOW! but that's what we were expecting When I grow up I want to be like you I love your builds so much I may even try a Nascar soon. Thanks for the inspiration! Thanks,

    Ferrari 430

dah, dah, ehh I'm trying to comment but I can't find the right words It looks GREAT! but.... 3 days? WOW! It takes me that long to put maybe 2 coats of color! darn it, now I want to dig mine out, which has been in primer for over 1 year Nice job... Thanks,
  20. John, I have just updated my dictionary. These pictures appear now as the definition of "ELEGANCE". What a gorgeous car! The lines are so beautiful. I don't know anything about the color options of them but yours is great. Nice job! Thanks,
  21. Hello, Among many other things, I'm always on the lookout for cheap (read FREE) sources of styrene like plates, products packaging etc. I also keep an eye for any scrapped aluminum that may be used in the lathe. Plus any other item that may ring a bell at the moment: Hmmm this could be used for...... Thanks,
  22. Hello, Work, Family and life in general have a conspiracy against the hobby. Workbench time has been very limited in the last few weeks and it seems it will only get worst. FINALLY!!!! The first color is on. Photographing white models is a real challenge. It is really white but it looks washed in the pics. Anyway, most of the car will be green. Cobra Colors Arctic white, Cobra Colors clear. By the time I get a chance to work with the green, it will be really dry. Thanks,
  23. Shhh, yes I know. I'm trying to source it locally but no luck so far. I'll even put it back in these jars
  24. Len, That's a gorgeous color combo! A clean nice build. The Z06 wheels look great as well as the underside. Great job! Thanks,
  25. Very VERY nice! Great job! That color scheme works very well on that car. Welcome aboard and hope to see more from you! Thanks,
