  1. Chris, that is some spectacular work! Let me pick your brain a bit, how do you get the masking tape stripes so fine? I've always wanted to try one of these paint jobs, but just haven't figured out how you guys get the tape so thin, or how you don't get any paint bleed-through on such fine lines.
  2. Great job on that grille Jon, it looks 100% better opened up like that!
  3. Do one thing, and cause more work, isn't that always the way it goes? Great work on the front end, that's a neat way to eliminate the old steel wire axle!
  4. Eye strain here I come, thanks Don, gotta make me a couple of hula girls!
  5. Thanks for the mini-tute Don, now I need to buy a microscope so I can paint 'em!
  6. Beautiful color Stave, and a nice clean build! Where did you get the air cleaner from?
  7. Thanks John, now get back to work on the Freak Show!
  8. Casey, all that work on the "hidden" areas is something you rarely see done, you're gonna haul in quite a few awards with this baby if it ever hits the contest circuit!
  9. Man, how did I miss this kit, it's got tons of detail and what you've done just makes it look so good...gotta get me one of these babies!
  10. Beautiful Don, and sure to be a beast to handle! Great job!
  11. Chris, you're sick and twisted, I like that! This should be a great one to watch, bring it on!
  12. John, you are the most efficient builder I've ever seen if you work that little and get this much done. You always seem to get tons of work done in what seems like the blink of an eye, yeahc me how to do that, I've got over 300 to build!
  13. OK Nick, spill it, who makes the killer Nighthawk Black Pearl? I want a bunch of it, that's gonna be a beautiful color when it's all polished out!
  14. Alyn, the lug on the end of the cable is just too much brother, you're killing me with this detail! What gauge wire is that, it looks perfect, and show us all how you made that little beauty!
  15. I don;t know about the hood, but the wheels are definitely Aoshima. Beautiful paint, clean build, and great stance, I'd love to have a real one like this!
  16. Another shot of the engine wiring, and then onto the coil. Since there was no coil in either one of the kits Sam sent, and I'm out of 'em, I tried to make my own from some sprue. I chucked it in the Dremel, hit it with a sanding stick, drilled a hole in it and called it good. I painted it semi-gloss black, then made a strap from a piece of PE fret, drilled a hole in the block, and glued it in place. That's all for tonight, see ya later!

  18. Time for more? You bet! I got the engine wiring done, I used white 30 gauge wrapping wire and some yellow jacket from some 26 gauge wire for the boots. I was going to paint the wrapping wire with some Tamiya Clear Yellow, but it wouldn't dry (I waited about 5 hours and it was still tacky), so I just decided to go with the plain white wire. Resin distributor from Replicas and Miniatures of Maryland, these things are great! Wiring in place on the distributor... 2 boots on each wire, time to get it installed on the engine! Right side of the engine complete, more to come!

  20. Christopher, I already drank it all anyhow! Thanks guys, this is one model that I'm truly happy with the end result, which is a first for me. Even though I didn't get all the details I wanted crammed into it, it looks really good, so I'm a very happy camper!
  21. Man, that interior looks good! What did you mix to make the flocking, it looks great! And I agree on the Dupli-Color Fabric and Interior paints, I've been using them since they came out, they're great stuff! Charcoal Gray, Desert Sand, and Black are the best, the other colors tend to be a bit too glossy to be realistic looking.
  22. That color suits it perfectly Andy, and it looks like it went on nice and smooth, great job!
  23. Mark, that kit would be a horrible choice, just pack it back up and send it to me so I can save you the aggravation.... Just kidding, I'd sell your kidney for that kit! And no, I'm not kidding, I'd sell my dog's kidneys too!
  24. No, and I'm wondering where you found it, I'm sure the lowrider guys have used 'em before, but seeing that I don't look at many lowriders, I've never seen one!
