  1. Thanks Oscar. One thing you can do is when you post up a model, ask for comments and criticism. Most people won't unless asked.
  2. The AMC car chase in the Bond film, Man With the Golden Gun. Which features on of the greatest jumps ever performed in any film. I believe it was filmed in Bangkok, Thailand. http://youtu.be/fzCIbhLUUA0
  3. Here's mine. So fast you missed it.
  4. Thanks much, will do so. As I finish up my Carrera Panamericana Stude, I'm thinking I want to do a 60's Pikes Peak racer.
  5. I wonder if this wasn't done for the AMT '25 T Double kit because I'd heard for years that some molds were lost.
  6. Yep, I have heard the same. However I'm not a fan of the ultra glossy paint jobs. I don't feel that the gloss is in scale if you catch my drift. It is far more gloss than any 1:1 car has. I like the results I get from the Duplicolor stuff.
  7. Does anyone know of a source for pics from the Pike's Peak hill climb challenge throughout it's history? The offical site only has modern pics. I'm primarily interested in 1950-80 time frame. I did some Googling but not much pops up. Thanks.
  8. Brilliantly done. That's one to be proud of.
  9. Nope, I'll likely just try some decanted Duplicolor Acrylic.
  10. I use Krylon Crystal Clear at least until I start airbrushing.
  11. You have picked one of the most notoriously ill fitting kits of all time. However most of us have tackled this one at one point or another, so you have a lot of sympathy here.
  12. Nice work Jim! Great color!
  13. Welcome!
  14. Take your time with this one. The separate roof, door, windshield/cowl can be a bit fiddley.
  15. I don't really have a comfort zone. I just build whatever I dream up.
  16. I did it just for you Jim. In fact, most everything for the foreseeable future will be shiny. I got a paint booth! Painting indoors in the AC is the way to go!
  17. Jason, first welcome to the forums. We have a lot of great people here. Second, I really like what you are doing here, but I have some questions? Why are some things not painted? The chassis? The lower half of the car? A note on the solder headers, they look great but because of the weight of the solder, eventually they will sag. You should add some sort of hanger to help with that.
  18. You don't want Jim. He's real biased when it comes to shiny. Seriously though, a stated rule change to eliminate pre-assembled/pre-painted diecasts would be a first step. Second would be, like others have said, get some local club members (check the IPMS registry in your area) to judge.
  19. Brushed on or airbrushed Roger? EDIT: Wait a sec. They are both acrylic. Whats the difference?
  20. Nice to see something new from you Virgil. It looks great. As usual.
  21. Now that you mention it, the decals from my other model and this one were from the same kit. I should have known better. Be careful with the decals from the Amt 37 Chevy released about five years ago.
  22. Guys, what caused this? I decaled this three days ago. It went on fine, no solutions were used beyond water. This is Krylon Crystal Clear Acrylic over Testors one coat. The other decals on the model were fine. I also had this happen on another model, where I used flat clear of the same brand. Any ideas?
