I have bought older glue bombs that had decals flaking off. Granted they were 30 years old, very likely, and put on badly, but still. So yes, it is mostly assumption.
Trade away the ones you don't want, for something you do. Very simple. Trying to sell is problematic because it might only be worth $5. But in most trade situations, it's usually worth another kit.
After sanding to 3600 grit to fix a flaw in the clear, I used this http://www.meguiars.com/en/automotive/products/g18116-polishing-compound/.
In just a few minutes I has an excellent shine. I followed it with some polish and had an excellent finish. I was shocked how easy it was.
Thanks everyone. I'm glad you like it. I did do a bit of research. Straight sixes were in fact raced in gassers, and since the '53 came with such a nice one it was a no brainer. I really had to pull it against the firewall to get it to fit though.
I should really be calling this one, Left Overs. Because it sure is. She came to life from my parted out 1/24 kits.
The kit really lends itself to a classic gasser very well. The straight axle and rear wheels/tires are from the Boothill Express, the I-6 from the Monogram '53 Chevy coupe. It has some great speed parts.
Without further ado............some shiny just for Jim.
I just got this kit in a raffle at a local show. I'm still kicking around ideas. Can those building this show what they have done? I'm thinking a land speed racer.
I think some pics of this out in the sun might be a good idea Jim. That last shot gives us a taste of whats going on, but I suspect some sunlight will really show it off.
