  1. He'll bounce back before ya know it. Dogs are amazing healers.
  2. What are your thought son a the engine? I think something modern would look great.
  3. WOOHOO! I love it! My favorite muscle car. I think adding some BMF to the bodyline chrome trim would really stand out, but it's really wonderfully done.
  4. WELL DONE SIR! I think you will be a fine addition here. Welcome to the forum.
  5. Has anyone taken the Revellogram '39 Chevys and built them factory stoock or maybe a traditional hot rod? If so what parts were used? I figure the I-6 from the Revell '53 Chev would be useful, but what about the interior? Anyone do a resin conversion?
  6. Well post something up on the WANTED section. Lots of folks don't care for anything but big V-8's so all the oddball stuff sits in the parts bins. Good luck.
  7. GOGOGOGOGOGGO! Looking forward to seeing some I-6 goodness.
  8. My folks went cold turkey about thirty years ago, following my dads heart attack at age 39. I have a huge amount of respect for them knowing the fortitiude it required to do so. I have some pals that are now smoke free for several months now using the electronic inhalers. They love those things. I gotta admit they smell a lot better. After cleaning up my parents ashtrays and getting stuck in a closed up car with them (they chain smoked when they drove), it cured me of ever wanting to try it myself.
  9. Very true. As artists we strive for perfection. It takes a great deal of maturity and self control to know when to say, "This is starting to suck, that will have to do."
  10. There was a lot of modifications done but every mod seemed to work perfectly, everything fit well and I had no real issues beyond the labor involved with the changes I made. With NO changes made, this kit went together with amazing ease. Highly recommended kit.
  11. I love this build. Well done.
  12. Well if it was my build the I-6 from the 1/24 Revell '53 Chevy is the obvious choice. It comes with some speed equipment. If not the 283 ci V-8 from the 1/24 Monogram '57 Chevy.
  13. Neato! I like it!
  14. To be immortalized in resin. Quite the honor..............I think. Great work.
  15. At least throw some headers on it to make it appear complete. I love the patina'd look.
  16. Or how about doing the stripes with just a little bit of matte clear? I've seen a few 1:1 rides done this way and they really do pop is good light.
  17. Sorry to hear that Tom. I hope it all works out. How much of your stash was lost?
  18. Manuel how much airbrushing does that get you? Pat I fully intend to. I have a booth now thanks to my amazing wife, a Badger 175 that I have played around with a bit. I bought Donns video so as soon as I get some cooler weather this fall I'll a painting fool. I think I'm a clean builder with good skills and the ability to lay a killer paint job is my last real hurdle as a modeler. I hope to be relocating this year to a more suitable habitation that will allow me to do everything indoors and therefore take the weather issue out of the equation as well.
  19. Donn, yours was the opinion I wanted the most. Thanks for the input guys.
  20. I'm returning an inexpensive compressor my wife bought for me for Fathers Day and saving for a better one. But I also thought that maybe I could just buy a compressed air tank and regulator, fill it with my big garage compressor (too loud for indoor use) and then just use the air tank indoors for airbrushing. Yeah, it would have to be filled often which isn't a huge issue and it's fairly large but very inexpensive compared to buying a good airbrush compressor. Anyone else doing this?
  21. Hmm. What sort of racing was it built for? Some sort of road course I'm sure. Maybe Pikes Peak?
  22. I dig the quarter elipticals. This things going to corner like a school bus.
  23. Fantastic work! Love that '70's look.
  24. Agreed, but speaking for myself these things are often the very last things I put on and I'm guilty of posting up 98% done photos myself. Nice work, and I'm pretty darn positive thats the old AMT Yankee Challenger kit. This kit had a separate roof so you could build build a convertible. This and the age of the kit are why that trim is missing Danny. One look at the trunk hinges and you can see its no diecast.
