  1. Jims tutorial really does make for a very stock and proper looking distributor. Give that a try. I have tried drilling out kit distributors and I find it to be an effort in futility. Usually I just drill the center of the dizzy out, glue in the nine wires, paint and call it good. Or here are some just made from some aluminum tube. As you can see once you get a tangle of wires there you really can't tell how well drilled (or even if it even is drilled) it is. When it comes to distributor, keeping it simple is the best way to go in my opinion.
  2. I think this would be a great idea but.......................would they sell? I mean even if everyone cranks out "pro-built" level work, they are still all going to be pink. Would they sell?
  3. Okay then it should go like this. Primer - undercoat (gold/silver) - candy (in light coats)
  4. I would definitely get involved with something like this.
  5. The key to candies is the base coat. Red/Orange should go over a gold base and blues/greens over silver. Also they are much thinner than other paints because they are designed to replect the base coat. Are you using primer? It looks like you are spraying over the white plastic?
  6. Not to be a jerk, but I'd like an answer to this question please Harry.
  7. I've found that just making things like door gaps a bit deeper with the back of my trusty #11 does just fine.
  8. You are correct, however, IF YOU POST A MODEL HERE YOU ARE GOING TO GET A CRITIQUE BY SOMEONE. If you do good work we're gonna say atta-boy. If you have areas to improve we are going to point them out, because the idea is to GET BETTER. If you only want atta-boys, don't post here, just go show it to your mom. I agree I've seen a few builds like that recently and it really does irk me. I get to the point where I'm replying with, "Nice paint but why put in all that work when you leave the mold line down the rear fender?" And then I go and delete it and go on to the next thread. For more on this idea folks, check out the Walk Then Run link in my signature line.
  9. For me on the other hand, this IS my favorite Charger, and I think you did a good job.
  10. I'm shopping for a booth and I'm finding these on Ebay for a very reasonable price. Does anyone here have one? If so please chime in here with your opinions on the unit. EDIT: My wife got me this for my birthday through Amazon. I think it's going to work out fine.
  11. Will a PM from the mod giving the warning point be sent so the reciever of the point knows exactly what he/she did to recieve it? If not I see a few WHAT DID I DO? threads popping up.

Very nice work. Its just screaming for a number on the door though.
  13. The wife drives an 01 Dakota Quad Cab and I drive an 05 PT Cruiser.
  14. That's very cool Nick, I like it a lot.
  15. I have sort of run out of steam on modeling for a while boys and girls. Got lots of stuff going on at work (odd shifts that keep changing) and at home (house hunting) and just keeps stealing my free time so I never really get into that zone where things get accomplished. I'll be back when things calm down. Keep building. Also I won't be at the IPMS Nats in Orlando after all. I'm not an IPMS member and I'm not going to pay to join just to enter the show.
  16. Looking good! I'll be following this one.

  18. Looking good. Keep at it.
  19. Find a way to reverse those skirts and you'll be onto something.
  20. I'm looking forward to the BMF!
  21. Looking good Nick!
  22. I really like your plan here. Can I recommend you double up the thickness of the chassis? I looks rather narrow for a truch with that sort of powerplant and equipment.
  23. Looking cool so far. Keep at it!
