Modelhaus/AMT question about 57 sedan delivery
twopaws replied to twopaws's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
thanks alot John for the box art. I guess over the years I have shied away from those versions. Built some of the Pro Modeler and Revell releases. Appreciate the extra work. -
Yes Ernie, it is the one on Bardstown Road and we meet 7:00 to 9:00. Come through the front entrance and down the hall to the left.. Hope to meet you.

Just picked up this resin kit and it says to use the ORIGINAL AMT 57 Chevy kit. I have had several incarnations of 57, what constitutes the Original. Better yet what does the box art look like ! If anyone has attempted this build I would appreciate any pointers you might want to share. Thanks to all responders.

Welcome Ernie, I'd like to invite you to come visit our LMCC model meetings, a very small group with some talented builders. We also put on the Derby Shoot out which will be held in July. We meet at Bob Collins Ford on the first and third Thurs. of each month. We also get a discount at Scale Reproductions. Any questions feel free to email me off the board. Craig Cochran, VP of LMCC

Thanks for the Press and Seal tip, similar to my solution, I keep precut pieces of wax paper with my paints to do the same thing, works like a charm.

I have played rhythm guitar with a couple of Old Timey String Bands, and now get together with a whole group of folks to play at some one's house. By far the most fun, better than playing in bands, jamming is the way to go. 1955 gibson LG-2 and a 1949 Kalamazoo (made by gibson) very vintage and very mellow.

One of Dave Koffel's early gassers was based on a 49 Packard. It ran F/G, I believe and was quite successful. It was one of the first Flintstone Flyers that came out of Dave's garage. I'd say Go For It!!!!

Fine looking build Jim, great work.

That's one good looking Elky. Nice job. -
I'd drive that one anywhere. Great build.

Sandi's sister called me after she found some models at a Barn Sale for under $5 each and sealed. She sent me a photo of the ten she picked up plus the guys name and number, I called him, he had 142 more all sealed and at the same price. So I drove to Michigan, about 5 miles from where I lived for thirty years and got them ALL.

30,000, way too many pounds of bananas for that truck. Loved his music and loved the Man.

If two is better then four is GREAT. Very nice build.

Can't decide whether you are a better builder than most or a better photographer than most. OK, the answer is BOTH. Great work. -
Maybe the best build of this kit that I have seen. Excellent.

Godspeed to one of my favorites of all time. He and J. Winter on the same stage, what a hoot that must have been. Want to see a lite side of him, it's worth the time, his YouTube of Elmer Fudd singing Bruce Sprinsteens Riding in my Car. Rest well Fisher King.

Since adding the PLUS, I have a renewed interest in NSRA events, for a while all you saw was..... now the variety of cars includes..... I still enjoy the street rods but the addition of the PLUS has pushed the Louisville show to 11,000 entries, something for every taste. Hope this link works for you. http://public.fotki.com/craig-cochran/11-car-shows/2014-nsra-louisville/

When I converted my 66 Nova from A/S to Modified Production, I pulled the 327/350 horse and went with a 350 block. This primarily due to the anticipated higher rev count so the 4 bolt main just made sense. At least to me.

Glad you moved that to the top of the build list. Maybe the first one I've seen finished. Excellent work.

Great start again, when living in MI I really enjoyed watching all the Dune vehicles.
