  1. Kemszi, have you decided which wheels to put on this model? I think you get a choice in the box. Always liked these saw a few in yellow in my time but I like the ST choice.
  2. Great build, I also have this one on hold at the moment. Sprayed the body in Yellow and went with the black gloss wheels. Started on the black interior and with building up the engine. I need to learn how to detail the engine, that one looks great.
  3. Nice builds Kemzi, we both have an interest in building JDM (Japan Domestic Market) cars as they are known in the UK. I have a few European exotics to finish first then I am going to build another JDM, maybe even a wagon. I have been promising myself the Subaru Legacy Wagon Tune B and Nissan StageA. Always had a soft spot for the StageA,
  4. Brilliant Wagoneer theme going on, nice build.
  5. Really nice build and a rare kit, nice to see them still getting built after all those years in storage.
  6. Carl, my vote is for Grandpa's Drag u la, welcome. Paul
  7. Welcome Ron, looking forward to seeing some of those builds. Paul
  8. So this is the filler primer for plastic from Halfords. 2 coats and it went on really well, might have found my new primer choice. Bit of sanding to do and then another coat before starting the top coat. I am still thinking of gloss black for the car.
  9. So this is a kit I scored cheap off ebay a while ago which I was going to build stock as a Yenko, then I found that the decals were no good. A bit of surfing and I came across the idea of the Camaro street fighter and really liked the look. I don't have any pictures from the initial build as I started it a while ago but the body is painted in silver with a black hood, interior black and ready for detail painting. Wheels I took from another kit, I think they were from the Mitsubishi Evo V fujimi kit which comes with two sets of wheels to choose from. I sprayed the wheels black then painted a red rim by hand. I have stayed away from any chrome and gone with the matt black look for edging. It is a popular theme in the UK with modern cars to now have black grills, roof bars instead of chrome.
  10. Really looking forward to following this build, fantastic car.
  11. Awesome, has anyone built the Aoshima interceptor from mad max, I would love to see pictures of those. The Aoshima kits are well in excess of £100 now, too much for me.
  12. Thanks for the welcome guys, I live in Yorkshire close to Leeds. I also have a 1:1 wagon that you can't get in the USA, the Skoda Octavia VRS Combi. Just wish someone would build a kit for these. rel14 I had to look up what a 54 Ford 2 dr ranch wagon was but that is an awesome classic to have, you are very lucky.
  13. Brilliant effort. Did you strip the chrome parts with oven cleaner and then spray them? I found that was the key to the authentic look on cars with a lot of chrome. Very nice paint job and detail work.
  14. Built the same kit many years ago and I also just had to paint the red detailing around the grill. I went with black for the body and regretted it, your choice of colour is much better. I did not like the fit of the wheels supplied with the kit and would definitely consider some aftermarket wheels.
  15. This is a kit I desperately want to build along with the Hasegawa Jaguar XJS, fantastic classic vehicles. The Jaguar Mk2 was the classic bank robbers car in the 60s in the UK, serious turn of speed for its size. Great build, I would agree with the comments above about sanding back before clear coat, flattens the paint and removes the orange peel.
  16. Another kit I have in the stash, looking forward to seeing how this progresses, great work so far.
  17. An iconic car of my youth in the UK I never realised they were sold in the USA. Be great if someone built the kit to US spec.
  18. Looking good Kemzie, These are a very popular car in the Uk.
  19. Looking forward to this build, got one in the stash for the future so hoping to pick up some tips along the way.
  20. Thanks Kemzi, I learnt a lot by watching the scale modeling channel on youtube, the guy is really talented and also explains things well, after that it was a lot of patience and starting over after mistakes. I know what you mean about the rear wheels, they do not fit well and mine sit forward of where they should. The only real let down of a great kit.
  21. Early stages, just fitted wheel arch fenders, going to try Halfords filler primer for the first time on this one so fingers crossed. So far kit appears to be decent quality for a vintage one. I will post more photographs as I continue, still haven't decided on the colour but I am thinking black for this one, really suits the car. Last photo shows the rest of the cars on the bench.
  22. One of my first car builds, fantastic kit from Aoshima which came with pre painted wheels. I was so impressed with the colour I went to my local Halfords car supplies and matched it to a rattle can, one of the Ford ones I think. Apologies for the dust it has been on display for a while. The truck is a Revell Kenworth kit I picked up, I really like the USA trucks, real character and style especially the older ones with all the chrome, I have a few more from Revell and Italeri in the stash for the future.
  23. Hi, just getting into the hobby after building a Nissan Skyline for one of my young sons. Now I have 4 builds on the bench at the same time, Union models 1:20 Lamborghini Countach LP500, tyhe rest are 1:24 Tamiya Ferrari 360 spider, Fujimi BMW 635 csi and an AMT 1969 Fast and Furious Yenko Camaro which I am attempting to make into some kind of Street Fighter. Big fan of both JDM Japanese cars and Muscle cars from the USA plus European exotics and as a Dad, fast wagons which I know are more of a European trend than what you tend to get in the USA. I am enjoying learning from everyone else on the forums, thanks for sharing all the tips and tricks. Paul
