  1. Nice build and realistic weathering, if I had known you were building this, I would have sent you a set of BMC 10" steel wheels and crossply tyres I cast in resin
  2. I'm not sure if this paint, although made by the same people who originally made the paint for the real trabants, but this was airbrushed last night in body colour, and I managed to mask it up to paint the satin black floor, by this time, the blue had dried rock hard, and masking tape didn't peel any of the paint off, I had so much trouble early on with the Capri green Universal, I had to decant the paint into a glass bottle, as the valve had gone faulty, but the paint hasn't started to cure like the green and also the beige paint had started to do nearly straight after I had decanted it.
  3. Thank you
  4. I've heard their going to use a totally different engine to the original one
  5. Got all the parts that needed to be done in body colour painted and set aside to dry
  6. Managed to get a few parts in primer this morning,
  7. Gunze Sangyo used to make one, they come up from time to time on eBay, but they end up going for silly money
  8. Got a little paint on the body, it's genuine Trabant glacier blue, once all the body parts have been painted, they'll be put away until there dry, which can take a millennium, this is the only automotive paint I've used that you can thin and clean up using only white spirit, no a bad shine straight from the airbrush, but it will be a while until it's ready to be wet sanded and polished
  9. Super clean build, looking good so far ....
  10. Safely placed in the display cabinet until I can get to the photo booth to take some better photo's
  11. Finally got this one finished, it's be on the go (On & Off) since the 5th January 2015, when I can get to my photo booth, I'll post some better photo's, It was airbrushed in the genuine Trabant Capri Green, which I imported from a Trabant specialist that is still in the same place as the Trabant's used to be built
  12. All finished, I'll post some better photo's when I can get to my photo booth
  13. No, those two models are totally different and share no common parts at all
  14. Yes, I'd heard that, luckily no damaged occurred on either of mine, I'll start one when I've decided what colour scheme I'm going with
  15. So close to the finishing line now, just one window and two mirrors to go, it will be finished later on tonight
  16. To apply it I use a wooden cocktail stick that I have filed the tip even finer, a small drop in the corners is enough to hold the windows in place, and once dry, it's perfectly clear, small items such as headlamps I use Tamiya X-22 clear acrylic
  17. Wasn't expecting the box to be so big, there's a lot of chrome parts in this kit and the body is superbly molded,
  18. Thanks, this one has been on and off the bench for the last 12 months, but I've really enjoyed the build
  19. Just the side door windows to have there rubber seal at the bottom of the window to be airbrushed, which I've done this morning, just waiting for those to dry and they'll be fitted later as well as the two door mirrors, and this one will finally be finished. The mirror faces have been replicated using chrome BMF, much better than the silver decals they include for this purpose
  20. I use latex gloves when I'm mixing up epoxy resins, but these cotton gloves are a lot thicker than the cheaper cotton gloves you can buy, and no, there not slippery at all, no more slippery than bare hands anyway
  21. http://hlj.com/product/FUJ12640/Aut
  22. What kits have Ebbro and Heller collaborated in producing ? I know about the tie up with Tamiya for there Citroen 2CV Fourgonnette kit, which wasn't surprising, as the guy running Ebbro used to work for Tamiya
  23. Even here in the U.K I had great trouble finding a hobby shop stocking Heller kits, luckily now I can order them direct with Heller in France, Ebbro kits on the other hand can be found in most hobby shops over here
  24. I haven't got any release date for this, I've been informed sometime around Spring 2016, but Ebbro are releasing there own version of the Citroen H van in 1/24th scale
