It is a Henderson Ace and only came in the 1st issue Chrysler roadster. If you have seen.this motorcycle it does not have a front brake but a brake lever on the handlebar. It has a clutch lever on the other end of handlebar but actually had a left foot clutch and a gas tank mounted clutch stick lever. Indian bought the Ace company and released a1928 Indian Ace with a front brake. That was the last year the Indian Four would would carry the Ace name with Indian. The kit motorcycle is also missing a intake manifold and carburetor and three seat springs. I date it as a 1927 Ace but Schwinn had bought Henderson which fell in line with their Excellsior motorcycles in 1918 and sold this 4 cylinder up to 1932. The Henderson brothers worked for Schwinn Henderson but left to form the Ace company around 1920 until their bankruptcy After which Indian acquired them and sold the Four until 1942 WW2. I built one but had to scratch build the missing parts and photo-reduced Henderson Super X tank decals and cut off the fog lights. It makes a decent looking motorcycle when finished

I have only been able to post pics of my 68 road runner conversion on this site on the day I joined the forum. For a reason unknown to me, I can’t upload anymore. But the 30 coupe I got was supposed to be the final #5 and has a GMC on a Chevy. I don’t have or have seen a kit of the roadster or coupe to say what parts are in them either. But I can say I saw. 40 standard coupe sample in green plastic that was also purported to be a pre-production sample but I picked the 30 coupe instead. All I am doing is sharing my story to the forum and the rest of you can debate it. I was told by the seller that it was a pre-production sample of the to be re-released kit. If it is, it is like Mr. Mettalic said, a piece or model history.

I just bought a pre-production built sample of the five window model A coupe that is due to be released in July( according to modelroundup). It is molded in grey plastic with a GMC blown motor with Halibrand wheels. There are no chrome parts on this car and is the number 5 final sample before kit production. I know nothing about the optional kit parts but what I see in the sample is very cool and should be a good seller for Revell.

Well I have a ruler and it’s not correct. I am not wasting my time building a kit that doesn’t look right after finishing

Wheelbase for a 61 Catalina was 119 inch. Wheelbase for a 62 Catalina was 120 inch. AMT got it wrong again but who would care, right? Just make a 62 body fit a 61 Ventura chassis, throw some extra tires in and some retro box art and make some money. There are too many inaccurate kits on the market and unless “we the people” demand better, it will only get continue. They did the same thing with the 68,69 Plymouth GTX, road runner kits.

I just picked up the Polyglass gasser 2 and did a comparison with the annual amt Bonnie and the annual body wheelbase and overall length is longer. 1961 Catalina was a shorter wheelbase but in 62 a Catalina was the longer wheelbase and the same as a Bonneville. A 62 Catalina was a separate trim package on the long wheelbase. Since the Polyglass gasser is a shorter body I suspect that they just used the 61 Ventura chassis. So this body is not correct for a 62 and no scripts on the body. I am disappointed in another incorrect kit from amt but because of all the inaccuracies makes the kit a gasser

The thin indentions on the sides of the hood appear to be for intakes. I do know that the amt 53 Stude kit has a 392 hemi motor that fits right on the 40 Ford kit chassis motor mounts and it has a twin supercharger. Wouldn’t take much to fit it under the Lindberg hood with a supercharger poking through each side of the hood.

I have the Lindberg kit of the 40 coupe in pink plastic. Problem I had was the grill surround isn’t stock or the running boards. The rear windows above the trunk don’t have the same shape as the amt body. But the the hood actually fits the amt 40 sedan delivery body I am working on better than amt’s Own hood. Best part is the Lindberg hood is louvered but lacks the hinges. The Lindberg kit I have is dated 1991.

AMT chassis will not fit the Johan body. The wheelbase is 1 scale inch too long. AMT chassis is for a Dodge and not the 1inch shorter wheelbase of a Plymouth.
