Kenworth T660 Dimensions?
Old Albion replied to Jeff T.'s topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Jeff, Check Tim's web site. I'm sure he built a small modern Kenworth and explained the changes that he had to make to the standard box stock Kenworth T600. Hope this helps Best Wishes Dave Bates -
Jason, Great looking Kenworth. Nice colour the blue really sets it off. Best Wishes Dave Bates

T-600 Wrecker and Chevy Bison
Old Albion replied to Jason's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Jason, Great looking trucks. My favourite is the Chevy Bison. Do Chevroloet still make heavy Trucks or have they dropped out of the market? I have the Chevy Bison kit ready to be built sometime in the distant future. Just out of interest. Was an extended hood ever an optional extra on these and what was the biggest engines that could be fitted? Best Wishes Dave Bates -

This looks great. I like the older vehicles they certainly have an appeal to me. A 1950 s pickup might just be a future project. Nice work! Best Wishes Dave Bates -

Is it really January since I last posted something on My Autocar?? I can not believe that it is 8 months ago. Well anyways I have made some progress. The frame is painted and engine is installed. Front steering works, rear suspension works to. The engine is installed, complete with radiator and exhaust stacks. I have done most of the plumbing. There is still some touching up to do on the frame and I'm waiting for the wheels. But I have made some progress. I need to get some decals made and need a good supplier. Any thoughts? I cut the doors out of the cab ready for hinging. Still a long way to go but I'm getting there slowly. http://public.fotki.com/oldalbion/autocar-...nprogre-12.html Hope you enjoy and Thanks for looking. Best Wishes Dave Bates

this one's taking too long
Old Albion replied to ns4ever's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Andy, This looks an interesting project and you made good progress. It looks good to me so far. Does Dave Natall offer an ABLE body sleeper? I thought I saw one on his web site www.airtruckmodels.com This is a difficult project since there is a lot of scratch building required but having had a look at some of your other builds is well within your capabilities. I will look forward to the finished photo's. Just a couple of questions: Which version is this one based on? Why was the fifth wheel set at the end of the frame? Always wondered that. Good Luck with the rest of the build. Best Wishes Dave Bates -

Bill, Your work really is exceptional. I'm with Tim, my favourite is the Kenworth and the Western Star. Is the Kenworth the Revell kit. I have not built a logging truck yet, but this gives me lots of ideas. Thanks for sharing them with us. Best Wishes Dave Bates -
359 racetruck
Old Albion replied to ns4ever's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Andy, Great idea for a build. I like your paint work and decals. Do you make your own or are they from a kit? What engine are you putting in the Pete? May want to think about a big Detroit 2 stroke with turbo chargers as well as the standard supercharger. I was talking to a guy at the ATHS convention in Hutchinson Kansas in May who raced a Ford with a 6/71 Detroit. He said he prefered the Detroit because the 2 stroke is much more responsive and not as sluggish as the standard 4 stroke and its also a little lighter. (depending which engine you choose) So for racing it was ideal. Clayton, That Super Boss looks superb! Best Wishes Dave Bates -
Bill, Very Impressive looking rig. Your scratch building skills are excellent. Come to think of it all the Fire Apparatus builders on this board have superb scratch building skills. I will definately look forward to your build of the pumper truck. Just out of interest what engine did you put in it? Best Wishes Dave Bates
