  1. kurt, Just been looking at the engine. The detailing is quite exceptional. The weathering on the exhaust is very good. I always wondered about the drum at the rear of the Mack Transmissions. Is this a break of some sort?
  2. Matt, That certainly does help. Let me know as soon as you have the castings available commercially. I,m interested in a couple. Many Thanks
  3. Tim, Very Impressive!! I really like the Low Boy with the Goose Neck. Very Nice.
  4. Tim, Superb!!! I like the scratch built cab, it gives me some ideas and a lot of encouragement seeing the trucks you build. Great Work!
  5. Dave, That looks superb so far. Look forward to seeing the finished item. Keep up the good work!
  6. Very Nice! That chrome really stands out with the red paint.
  7. Nice project so far. Looking Good.
  8. Scott, This looks very good. I like the little details like the cab interior and the chassis. One question. Will the frame be grey or some other colour? Reason I ask is that the grey at the rear of the frame goes really well with the blue of the truck body. Just an observation. Nice work so far!
  9. Great Looking Project!! Certainly something different. A grain hopper has just been added to my to do list!! Keep us posted on progress and don't worry about the floor it looks great!
  10. Matt, Looks good!! I like the hood, is it an aftermarket item or have you scratch built it. Reason I ask is I intend to make my own extended hood when I get round to a planned 359 Pete project. But not for some time yet though!! Got a couple of Autocars to finish first. Keep us posted with progress.
  11. Tim, Looks great so far. I like the Pete good colour combination. The low boy very interesting. Nice details on the goose neck attachment. Look forward to seeing it all finished.
  12. Tim, Try this link. It has a good selection of links, there are more but its a good place to start. http://www.socalcarculture.com/modelcarlinks.html Hope its of use.
  13. Bill, Superb looking Mack. Good scratch building skills and interesting combination of the Rex mixer and the DM chassis. That DM600 kit is really versatile I need to get one.
  14. Excellent! Well finished and very interesting details.
  15. Check Dan's Model Truck World. Look in the On-line store. See the link below: http://www.danmodeltruckworld.com/shop/ Hope this helps
  16. What ever you do don't use super glue (Cyanoacrylate) I made this mistake on my Autocar Dump truck. The result was extremely disapointing to say the least (Left a fog like covering and showed fingerprints etc Aaarrrggghhhh!!!).
  17. Tim, Superb!!! Very Impressed. If AITM produce the conversions I will be buying a couple for definate. I had a look on the AITM web site. Dave Natal has a great selection of kits and aftermarket parts and the quality looks very good. Will definately be doing business with AITM in the near future.
  18. Simon, For information and ideas try Hanks Truck Pictures: http://www.hankstruckpictures.com/ or the ATHS web site gallery: http://www.websitetoolbox.com/mb/aths or Truck Paper: http://www.truckpaper.com/default.asp?guid...6AC4A89DAD3AD25 Check Tim,s Web site: http://tahlborn.web.aplus.net/tim.htm or www.Truckmodeler.com There are others but these are excellent sites for information and inspiration.
  19. Carl, This is without doubt an Outstanding Piece of Model Engineering. Very Impressive! This would be an excellent load for an Old Low boy trailer pulled by an Old weathered Pete 351 or maybe a White Diesel Truck.
  20. Just thought I would show a little update to show the progress so far. You will see that the engine is 99% finished. Still to be weathered and electric cables to be added to the altenator generator. Next will be detailing the transmission. The exhaust pipes from the turbochargers back are to close to the hoses and cables on the rear auxillary drives and might melt due to the heat. So I may have to bring the pipes to the outside of the frames and then under the diesel tanks, using the tank brackets for supports. I'll think about that later. http://public.fotki.com/oldalbion/autocar-...4binprogre.html Thanks for looking. PS Just a little side note (Caution). You will see from my photo's the drive axle tyres I'm using are heavy duty drive axle type. These are the ones from KFS. Beware they will not fit the KFS wheels that Howard supplies I found this out by chance when I tried to fit one of the tyres to a spoked drive wheel. The tyre is too wide and the inside diameter is too small. To overcome the probem I will be manufacturing some new wheel rims to suit the new type of tyres. I'll keep you informed how I go on.
  21. Kurt, Great looking project. As always I'll be watching out for the updates. Good Luck with the rest of the build.
  22. Jim, Good start. I like the look of the Astro, it seems to be a good old work horse. I have been looking out for a Chevy Titan version of the Astro on Ebay. But not much luck yet. I will be interested to see how yours turns out. Good Luck with the rest of the build.
  23. Scott, Great start! I also like the detail on the fifth wheel. Nice touch. Good Luck with the rest of the build.
  24. Just checked STS web site. The hood is still available part Number GD7. I am going to place an order before they all disappear. When I build my 379s I will be using the 377 kit. I might use the front springs and hanger brackets from the Revell Snap Pete. But this project is a long ways off yet. Too many other projects planned before I get to the 379.
