  1. That beast looks like it could eat you alive. Very cool looking gasser and the weathering is outstanding. I would for sure take this one to my shelf.
  2. Is this site helpful? https://www.the-blueprints.com/search/pontiac+bonneville/ Don't worry too much of the wheelbsse, it will look good anyway.
  3. Hey Arturo, I built this Audi 200 quattro by using the body like the starter of this topic is building, Audi 80. That means I made the original body wider and longer. The only part that is untouched/ original is just a narrow slice of the roof, everything else is practically scratch built. The grille, bonnet, lights, interior, engine, chassis, wheels. The body is 2mm wider all the way from the nose to the tail. What a great car your grandpa had, I wish I still had mine.
  4. I can not do that kind of magic. One earlier 4 door project of mine raised the same idea to discussion and I watched some youtube videos of casting. Over my skills for sure. Thanks for asking though ?.
  5. Yeah for sure! I doupt, that there was no Pontiac taxicars in Finland back in those days. Some US cars, like Ramblers and Dodge Darts maybe, Plymouth Valiant too, but nothing this kind of vehicle. Mostly Peugeot, Volga, Mercedes etc.
  6. Thanks! Yesterday I got the interior painted. Nothing fancy there, mixed three different paint colours the get that light brown tone done... dark brown, white and some golden paint too. Light gray carpet on the floor. I took the floor shifter off and added a column shifter instead. This Taxi has a automatic gearbox. The 389cid 2bbl engine will have blue paint, but the rest of the chassis will be dark gray, as there's a stiff antirust threatment underneath the body.
  7. Oh jeah this is something I'm going to follow. There's a handfull of job for you. Good luck and lot's of something we Finns call "SISU". That's like "not to ever give up no matter what".
  8. It was built many years ago, and I can't find the thread anymore, but if you allow I put 3 photos here in your thread. This model is made to look like my 1:1 Audi, that I had for 14 years. Nowadays it has a new owner, and it's been built as a vintage rally car. When I sold it, the odo showed over 450tkm on it, still pulling strong with 185 hp stock under the hood.
  9. I dig this build, as 80'ies Audis are my soft spot. A few years ago I built this kit too, only thing though I converted it to '85 200 quattro. I cut the whole body from the nose to the tail in half to make it a bit wider and so on. Also 5 syl. turbo engine and 4wd axles are there. Keep on modelling, tuning version should be fun to watch when finished. I like that Benetton multi colour steering wheel a lot!
  10. Thanks everyone. That is a funny coinsidence Peter L. , that we build the same AMT '62 Pontiac Catalina at the same time to so different direction. Your Pontiac will look very cooool.
  11. No major development here, but Pontiac got a new layer of paint and I started to make it look like a finnish Taxi in 1962.
  12. Very nice build of that awful kit. I picked that kit some years ago for my boy for his first project, didn't get it done even with my help. Yours looks very good indeed.
  13. Hi bisc63, that Bonneville would had surely been such a cool ride, sorry you didn't get it. My project got it's first paint to show all the dings and scratches on the body. My white tamiya primer can was empty, so I had to use some market matt white spray, not a very good stuff, but it dries fast.
  14. This time I will try to get things done the easy way, as I won't rise the roof of the 2d ht, just making the window openings a bit higher and enlargening the rear window. Let's see how it goes... The driver side windows are still untouched.
  15. Such a beauty. That paint surely shows all the curves of that body.
  16. Thanks everybody! I didn't put any dirt on it, because I thought this racer is ready for the next race or season, all washed and painted and fixed. Also the wrinkles in the body are easier to see this way.
  17. This racer is now ready and can be seen in the NASCAR section. Thank you!
  18. Hello. This build up can be seen On The Workbench. Here is some photos of the Finnish modeller's finished model.
  19. Thanks espo for your good advice. I'm not quite sure, what era this racer is, but if '57 Chevy has first been driven daily lets say 15 years, then the son/daughter drove it to school and McDonald's 3 years. Then it sat 5 more years in the back yard waiting daddy to fix it good, (never happened). George from the scrap yard took it away and Chevy sat two more years until Hank from RTR Illinois was looking for a fixable project for his new hobby - dirt racing. I would quess october 1982 is the time of reborn of this mighty Chevy. Hank has driven it for 3 seasons now, and it's got new paint everywhere, numbersmatching engine overhauled, new tires etc. ready to enter new season. How's that sound? 1985? I added third bar both sides, and the other one you mentioned. I hope I understood and and got it right.
  20. Thank you very much everybody. As adviced, I made some changes to the roll bars. I took the existing side tube off and added two parallel tubes each side. The rear lights are gone and their places covered with "metal plates" . Stay tuned and feel free to comment.
  21. Thanks everybody! Some progress here: made the roll cage, installed a small 283 cid engine, painted the sponsor texture, dash from a old nascar, drivers seat, steering wheel, front bumber. Now is the time to give me advise, if something is going wrong, as I'm building this racer just by looking photos online. In Finland we drive Bugs, Volvos and Fiats etc on dirt tracks, not classic US cars.
  22. I have only one Charger, '67 Hemi barn find. The LH head is taken off, the pistons are visible.
  23. This racer Nova is getting better all the time. I usually measure once and cut twice, then trying to fix it somehow. Good to see some other way to do things too.
  24. Some years ago I got this '57 Chevy 2d ht body, that has slightly chopped roof, opened trunk, and the hood. Frame came along too, but that's all there is. I opened the wheel wells and now started to make some serious wrinckles to the sides. Let's see how that goes.
  25. I spotted a picture of a funny little car located in DAF Museum in Holland (Netherlands). Next I scooped thru my scrap boxes and found the remainings of '39 Chevy (Monogramm) that had given many parts to my other models. I cut the roof in pieces, made the hood and the grill more narrow and so on. I found and made some parts to create the engine, dash, rear wheels etc. Painting the body was nearly the end of the project, so badly did the primer and spray top coat react to each other, but I scraped it all off and brush painted it with Revell 52 blue enamel. The original Mobile Raincoat vehicle was designed by Mr. Hub van Doorne for his private use, in case of rain, he could have driven straight inside his house with it. Did he use it is unsure. My model is my version of that kind of one person vehicle, not an exact copy of the original Mobile Raincoat. Just wanted to use those Chevy parts for something fun. The first pic shows how small this vehicle is, about 2,25 inches high and 3,5 inches long. 1,25 inches wide. Take a look and feel free to comment, thanks.
