  1. In 2017 Drag Week a Finnish team drove 1967 Plymouth Vip twin turbo, and I built a 1:25 model of that giant car. This year 2020 partly the same crew will bring 1987 Buick GNX to that event, and my goal is to make a 1:25 model of it. I have now the engine under construction, and I made the wheels and DOT slicks too. I'm waiting the postman to deliver me the GNX body shell from a friendly co-modeller. The gearbox will be cut off to be replaced with a scratch built one. Also the oil pan will be changed.
  2. Very sharp and clean Ford. You have succeeded to paint those stripes well, not always so easy to avoid leaks under the masking tape.
  3. I'm watching closely. 4d conversions are the salt and sugar of car modelling.
  4. Yeah I think the nose job was unnecessary, but there was an idea of a mean street machine, before the roof swap hit my brain. At that time major cutting had been done. A stock Shelby nose would have fit perfectly to this rapid family wagon. But I'm glad you buds like this kind of conversion.
  5. Old thread, but I put these here. Scratch built caravan trailers, 1:25. First one is a rwplica of my 1:1 "Kopara" the name means the reindeers foot. 2010 T@b 320 OffRoad. The second one is spotted from a youtube advertisement filmed ca. 1974, Gooseneck hitched to VW 1303S
  6. I started modifying the front end with no clear vision, what style this Shelby GT-350 would be. Then I remembered a left over Chevelle STW roof, and here is the result. Also put 429 SOHC engine with manual trans in it. Scratch built trunk compartement, roof rack, front end. Wheels and tires are from another Ford.
  7. Thanks Dann, I've struggled with this enough now, so I'll put it "Under Glass".
  8. In my eye this big coupe looks terriffic. I wouldn't change a thing, even the tone of that primer suits well on that body shell.
  9. Cool project you have started here. I wish I was a little bit closer to your location, as I would have needed need that Buick GNX body shell for my next project (replica of the Drag Week 2020 Buick).
  10. Caddy looks very smooth. I'm excited to see progress on this one.
  11. Small progress here: I got the windows installed, did some moldings and put the lights in place. Also made a roof rack, as this is a family cruiser wagon with a big engine. I'm not sure, what to do with those air intakes in front of the rear tires. Shelby uses the scoops, but I should have painted them at the same time as the body shell to get the tone match. Maybe it can be still done or then I just leave them as they are now, like a fake air intake.
  12. Interesting and challenging plan you have there. Good luck, I like when someone uses old parts to create something new.
  13. Yea David, I was a little worried this Wagon could look like a Red Cross ambulance with those red stripes. Now it got more stripes, two narrow ones to give it more sporty looks. Also I cut the windows ready to put in place. The windshield is so and so, if the original glass can be used for this. The frame is slightly higher than before the roof got changed. Lotus Cortina was/is really a cool car. I've seen an original one live some years ago in historic rally action. It moved and sounded awesome!
  14. I will be following this one closely. I've done some stw conversions too, so I'm very interested to see, how it goes for you. Good start so far!
  15. Thanks Dann! But now I'm not sure, if things went sour. I painted those stripes red instead of blue I was planned. The blue jar was dry. Oh well what's done is done. Maybe a very thin stripe outside of those wide ones will come still.
  16. Really looks like the real one. The dash in that lightning is fabulous. And the paint tone also. Would like to have this one on my shelf.
  17. There's details coming in this build that I've never seen before. Those hood hinges are superb. No more need to lift the hood aside while the model is on the show room table.
  18. Well that's a good looking Wagon, Claude! Well executed. And just the same roof as my Mustang has. Today I sprayed more primer and then Tamiya pure white. I think the body looks too pale, and two blue stripes will make a big difference.
  19. I never knew this kit excisted. Very fine build, so sharp and clean. Did you make any own parts, or is everything included in the kit? These old Citroens are jewels among cars.
  20. Thanks Ricky, nicely said. Today my Wagon got Tamiya primer. Some small dents and scratches, all easy to fix.
  21. Thanks, I agree these OEM style wheels are much better. I don't know, why I was so stuck with them big wheels. They will fit better for something different later. I'm getting close to the body shell painting. I think white coat with blue stripes would be fine. The interior is already painted. Matte black on the floor and trunk area, semigloss black on seats and dash, with silver on the doors. Picture comes later, when I take the body off for painting. I had to rip the breathers off from the valve covers, otherwise the chassis doesn't fit to the body. They will be glued back, when everything else is done.
  22. The model looks very good. I'm just too oldfashioned for this 3D printing.
  23. Cool! The model will have a Jag front end too, as the real one has? And the other modifications also?
  24. Old school engine, the Cammer, requires old school wheels. Or atleast not too big wheels and/or low profile tires, so I dug these out of the spare parts box. I think they are from a Mercury XR7?
  25. Thanks for your comment, Ray. Much appreciated! The wheels are too deep or the body is too low for sure, there are no axles yet at all. And no exhaust either, the sagging part is the floor panel showing underneath the body shell. I will raise the whole body up, when I get the axles installed. Today I started wondering about the engine/ transmission. I've had this old Ford Cammer 427 stashed for years. It's been bought somewhere already glued and roughly painted. The valve covers were assembled wrong (opposite) sides, but I got them loose and re glued left/right. The engine is not very accurate at all, but it could do the thing. The air cleaner is not neccessary the one I'll use. `67 Ford Mustang Wagon 427 Cammer, how cool is that?
