  1. What a beauty! Looks very sharp and clean build. Orange and white works everytime on everything and those decorations are very pretty.
  2. Thanks everybody. this one was a fun but a tricky to build. I already finished the new version of this same car, as it nowadays exists here in Finland. The owner contacted me and asked if I would build his car as a model. I did and now it's in his house. it's a curbside model.
  3. Ok this pickup was stalled for a long time, but I finally got it done. Twin blower 426 Hemi will bring your pizza to you quick and still hot. Some lemonade coming along too.
  4. Under 8 sec. quarter mile, almost street legal in Finland late 1980 early 1990 was the 1:1 car. This model is as close as I could copy it. The real car still exists, the new owner has made some modifications to it, but not too much. This is a AMT kit Richard Petty with big tire openings etc. I had a big job to make it look like this. All the decals are self made too. The red/black stripes are painted.
  5. I put today the sponsor texts, the mirrors, doorhandles, lights and some other stuff too. The rear side windows got their ventilation holes drilled. The next thing to do is to fabricate the seat belts, and do some painting to the interior floor (I took the seat, the shifter and the hand brake lever off so I could do some changes to the floor and the rear of the cockpit and then I put all back in). And the PORSU text doesn't excist yet. I think 95 % is done here, so my schedule is on time.
  6. I made some modifications to the rear bumper to look more like the 1:1 Porsu.
  7. Yeah Bruce, I showed some pics of my model to my friend, who has the real Porsu, and he was very excited about it. I'm still waiting for the engine donor Porsche to arrive. Meanwhile I started to make a Subaru engine from scratch. I didn't ask what specific Subaru engine he is using, but it's 3.0 liter flat 6, so I searched some good photos of EZ30 and try to copy that. No way this can be an accurate replica of that strange to me engine, but something close enough, atleast for myself. 3D print is out of my reach and interest. The engine is not in the right place, it has to be moved forward and up too.
  8. Thanks Bruce, this is so fun to build. I really like making my own parts, even if they are a bit rough sometimes. Today my Porsu got the wheels and tires planted to the axles and some paint under the front lid. I'm still waiting for that 939 to arrive to get the engine build started.
  9. I ordered a Tamiya Porsche 959, there might be an engine that I can start converting it to something I need. While waiting the package to arrive, I made some details to the stock cockpit. I left the dash out, and I don't use any metallic aftermarket stuff, so I make these bits and pieces out of styreine plastic. While painting the floor white, I messed a little bit the Recaro seat, but no worries, it will be painted black later. So the Recaro seat is from this kit, I just made the head rest a bit wider. The steering wheel is from parts box. Everything else is scratch built. I hope the 959 will arrive soon. Thanks for looking.
  10. Thanks everybody! And Kurt, I don't have any Subaru engine kit, but I hope I can build some kind of engine from scratch.
  11. Cheers Bruce! Today I cut the big front lip off and made a new one with cooling holes too.
  12. My friend is a car mechanic, and has had this old race 911 Porsche for years. Now he's determined to get it on the track again, Subaru 6-boxer planted in the engine bay, new roll cage, new brakes and all kinds of cool stuff. I've had this RSR934 stored many years too, and now I try to make a model of it to look like my friends racer. First I make the body shell changes.
  13. Thanks Cpt Tuttle! It's been kind of slow progress recently here at my cozy corner, but I've managed to put a 4-link to the rear axle and made the tail gate.
  14. Here's mine. Buick is starting to show some warping as years go by.
  15. Thanks again everyone. I will add a 4link to the rear axle, it already has air suspension bags installed. I took the front end system from some Nascar. After fine tuning the wheels it should work fine. There might even be space enough for the disc brakes too.
  16. Thanks both of you. The cabin was cut and the engine fitment was solved. I made the rear fenders a little wider, so I could fit those old fashion slick tires. No need to make the bed any shorter, I just leave the tail gate open, maybe put some kind of net instead.
  17. This old pickup Ford was in a big box of models and parts a co-modeller sent me. I stripped all the paint off. Also he had started assembling those twin blowers on top of the 426 Hemi engine, so my idea is to put them together with a twist of my own. The cockpit will be sectioned 6 mm. Rear tires will be old style drag slicks, front tires are narrow ones and perhaps chromed steel wheels on both end.
  18. Oh yes this will be awesome. This is just the sort of model building that makes me ticking.
  19. Thanks Anton. The body is painted, the interior is missing some tlc, the engine bay is still waiting for the real Buick to get the right setup. The owner said the hood scoop is too short, so I'll try to fix it. Also the red sponsor texts are unneccessary. Lot's of things to do with this model, but I have the time now, 'coz can't go anywhere.
