Plymouth Vip 1967 Twin turbo with U-haul trailer
Reuhkapelti2 replied to Reuhkapelti2's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Some progress here also. This is gonna be painted in metallic blue with black vinyl top. Made some changes to the rear to look more like the Vip. -
There is a group of car builders in Finland, who took part of the 2017 Drag Week in USA. They shipped the twin turbo -67 Plymouth Vip across the Atlantic Ocean so they could join the famous race. I've been building this project for two weeks now and here is the result so far. I'm trying to build this model as close as I can to look like the 1:1 Flying Finns Vip. I started with Jo-han four door Plymouth Fury Police pursuit car. I cut off the roof and made a new one, also eliminated the rear doors and made the remaining doors a bit longer. The engine bay is practically all scratch built, only the engine block is picked from my scrap box. Also the U-haul trailer is scratch built of Evergreen plastics. Lots of work ahead but that's the way I like!

1969 Oldsmobile Cutlass Convertible ex442
Reuhkapelti2 replied to Reuhkapelti2's topic in Model Cars
Thanks everyone! Yes the rag top cover isn't quite perfect, made it myself instead of taking it from some other model box. Mr. Elvis is hanging from the rear view mirror and the antenna has Minnie Mouse ears. -
Hello again! This time I made some modifications to a AMT Oldsmobile Cutlass 442 2d ht. I cut off the roof and made the cover for the rag top. This model has a real 1:1 car in my town, so I made some other stuff too to make a copy of that vehicle. These things can be seen in the photos, but I can mention some. Wheels were the famous Chevy Rally wheels, that I modified heavily. The mask is different than the original. The trunk lid has that wide chrome thing ( I don't remember the word for it). Tires were changed and they got the white stripes on them. The exhaust tips were changed. The Sun visors were made and an antenna too. The steering wheel was modified. The center console was made, because the transmission is now automatic instead of the original 4 speed manual. Spray painted and some clear coat too. The license plates are covered temporarily. Now some photos

1970 Dodge Hemi Charger RT in factory B3 blue
Reuhkapelti2 replied to baycolony's topic in Model Cars
Sooo beautiful! Very well done. -
Okay ATHU, thanks. Now I did some searching in the old interweb, and found some photos of a Latham supercharger. That one looks most likely the one you got under the hood. 4 carburetors on the side. Cool! Did that come with the kit or did you get it elsewhere? Looks like something I'm gonna scratch build some day. Found also a forum, where serious car builders were talking about the Latham superchargers. Great!

Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme 1972 -Blue Angel-

Thanks everyone! I checked the head light lense.. it's there but it got too much glue and looks different than the others. I'll try to fix it. -
I really like this Chevy too. I'm curious to know, what is that Blower on top of the 409? I have never seen that kind of blower before, 4 carburettors on the side. Is it called with some name? I'd like to see and read more info of it.

Hello there! This is my latest build, finished it today. It was supposed to get lime green paint on the body, but when I sprayed the clear coat on it, the paint couldn't take it. So with the blue automotive paint I repainted it. No self made parts, just added the spark wires and the licence plates. Have a look and make comments, thanks.

Just perfect from the outside. Anything under the bonnet?

What a beauty from a cool film. As they all say, you nailed it.

Thanks everyone. The rear spoiler was originally a rag top cover from some convertible model, maybe from -30's or something. Just cut the edges off and twisted it to little curvy. I know, ain't no masterpiece but got that part out of the scrap box. The front spoiler is made of styreine, total 11 peaces glued together one by one. Painted it after the body got its colour. Sorry no good photo while it was under process.

Hello! This is my latest production, Dodge Coronet Super Bee with V10 engine, so I call it Dodge Viper Bee. I made the rear and front spoiler, added some flairs to the side, put under the hood V10 engine with the Viper gearbox, bigger new wheels and tires. The chassis got the ladder bars to support the rear axle. Spray painted the body and then I had to fight with very weak decals that wanted to shatter into little peaces while I was handling them. But eventually I'm quite happy how the model turned out. Feel free to comment, thanks.

Thanks both of you! The exhaust and the rear axle supporters are from a nascar, modified slightly to fit under this Camaro. The body paint is sprayed, first white primer, then two coats of metallic silver and then the red, which is some cheap spray from a local department store. Finally some clear lacque. No sanding at all between spraying.

Hello! I'm back with this crazy -69 Chevy Camaro. I spotted a twin blower GTO video on youtube, and so I wanted to build a model looking something like that. I picked up this Camaro, that had given some parts to other projects earlier. I gathered some parts around and made some parts myself. The body is spray painted and it got some clear coating too. I built this only two weeks, when I had some time, so there may be some imperfections (like always...) and it should have a strong cage inside the cockpit. I left it out though.
