  2. alrightythen. How's-bout this little gem.
  3. you're probably right on that a CVCC had flatter shorter hood.
  4. kind of looks like a CVCC with Tupperware
  5. CAL

    Imsa Anyone?

Nice, I love the old IMSA GTP cars. I need to build a few of these. I have a stack of them.
  6. It's actually a BR6 but close enough.
  7. I didn't think so, but took a shot anyway
  8. You're in the ballpark.
  9. I think it's a Datsun Corona or something, but not sure.
  10. The article I read said 82, but yeah, he said it was like a big heavy bulky crippled insect, overweight, and lumbered around the track to make 1 lap before retiring. "Everything about the Flyer was wrong. From the aerodynamics to the engine." How bad of aerodynamics can you get from Eagle Aircraft for crying out loud?
  11. nope Ken Hamilton
  12. 1982 Eagle Aircraft Flyer It drove about as good as it looked.
  13. looks like an Olds 442 convertable.
  14. No, that's what I thought at first too, but it's an Opel Manta with Tupperware.
  15. I was waiting for it to explode at the end weird very weird
  16. Yeah, I feel the same way about a Porsche 550 RSR Spyder
  17. You're like the motorcar encyclopedia. you got me on that, what , I am guessing a 500 car. Looks like something we built as kids from old reffer boxes, though
  18. I was counting on you to get it
  19. I don't think anyone is going to figure out the 911 So here is one that's alot easier.
  20. What's already mentioned. Sanding the body first knocking down all the high spots and sharp edges help a lot. Priming and wet sanding again helps to eliminate those surpises. Think and plan ahead "edging" and hitting those high spots with an extra coat or two. Paint choice makes a difference not only on how it lays down but how much you can work it. Unfortunately unless it's a solid color, you can't just touch those spots up. The movement though is to get a good base color coat down and nib, buff, and polish the clear only. I know that's not always going to happen, but that is the direction a lot are going to.
  21. Yeah, okay... and there are a jillion 911 race cars, but thats not it. There is something unique about it, and it wasn't built by Porsche. there is a hint. I will even give ya the class IMSA GTS-2
  22. Actually all three of these vids show examples of toe/heel; however, their techniques are all a little different. The last one the driver is quite quick and you may think you are seeing double clutching. I don't think I am seeing him double clutch. Double clutching is would only be required when there is something wrong with the transmission or it's a bad designed. Something like that, where there is a drag between gears that doesn't allow them to synchronize. Or it’s a synchro-less trans. The double clutching is basically to slow down the natural “neutral†spinning of the gear the driver is going to shift into because no matter what to shift from one to another the gear speed needs to match. Which has very little effect on the need for toe-heel driving. I am sure if you have been in a discussion about it you understand that toe/heel driving is so that in a corner you can blip the throttle so that you don't spin in a corner. Think of the engine having braking power to. You don't want to much ie the engine at idle or near idle and down shift and let out the clutch, you will spin. You want to gradually let the engine braking power in and be able to control the rear of the car as much as possible with the trottle and not so much with the brakes. Some cars are a lot more sensitive to this than others.
  23. Nope, it was prior to FIA/IMSA GT-2 formating.
