thanks, this is the most prolific i've been in years 2 builds already this year, probably hasn't been since the 90s since I built this much. It's not perfect, but I am pretty happy with the way it turned out. More importantly once again I learned or relearned a lot. I knocked the windshield frame off twice so it's pretty much glue globbed on with expoxy now. Note to self next time pin the frame. I still need to decal it when my K. Marks decals show. Sports cars is where it's at baby I can't wait for the Hase Ferrari 250... just in time for my birthday. Luck for me my wife thinks it's cute. She is funny that way. I bought new kit for several weeks in a row, filling out my Ferrari selection ya know 550, 512, 612, 430, 599 even a XK 120 Jaguar - bring home a C6 LeMans Corvette and the **** hit the fan. Oh well, she's not a big fan of Corvettes, "why do you want such an ugly car like that?" Not mad because I bought another kit, though, just mad becuase it was a Corvette, she likes Porsche, Ferrari and British Sports cars.

Sweet looking Buick. I like the color. I hear ya all on the miss-outs I passed on a 260 Sunbeam Tiger, but the one I really missed out on was a rust-free all original 70 Cowl Induction 396 Chevelle for $1800.00 - wonder how much that might be worth now. The one that made me really mad was a last year I tried to by a Porsche 944 Turbo that needed some work - actually a lot of work. It was traded in for $1300.00 and the dealer didn't do anything to it but wouldn't part with it for less than $5500.00. They were asking Premium book on it of $6500.00 and it was a tow-away to boot - no power steering. And they wonder why they get a bad name.

When the adhesive dries up. I have a sheet that is a several years old and around the edges - maybe an inch in there is no stick no more.

you mean something like this? That would be some more work...

Red Bull? Doesn't have any weight since Red Bull sponsors a bunch of cars already. Futhermore, Russia is starting to lean back twards the old former Soviet Union. If you want to know any of the real truth about Russia or the Soviet Union, my wife is Russian. She has told stories that would make your hair stand up. Today they have a whole other set of problems. We use to do business with a company in Russia and for years we'd send a check a bank in Moscow and they would sends us our order. One day the bank and all the money in the bank was just gone, and there is no recourse for this. I later found out that this wasn't so uncommon. I am thinking along the lines of Diablo (the Devil car) is much more doable.

thanks, still a stretch to go, but there is light at the end of the tunnel. Now that I know how to build it I can build another for real. LOL I am still waiting for my Keith Mark decals, too.

The coupe, well it isn't really a coupe lol it's a Special Limo according to Mercedes. Yeah, don't have any tires that fit. I have a zipploc with about 100 tires and nothing fits quite right. I kind of feel that Diecast is much to blame for that whole thing, where it maybe more appropriate to charge a licensing fee. On a model car, it’s easy to see how it carried over, but look … Goodyear ya already got paid once on the 1:1 contracts. You’d think they would be a little more flexible on kit tires. I think they even tried to go after the contingency Goodyear decals on the bodies of cars, too, but IIRC those were already licensed to NASCAR which were in turn licensed to the kit manufacturer. So they couldn't double dip. All this stuff is just out of control. Why, it's not because they are not making money. It's because they are not making the margin. So they start getting sketchy and the bean counters go to work to nickle and dime everything to death. It's the corporate machine, and they are so insulated from everything like this - they guy or gal making the real dicisions is probably clueless. Everybody down the ladder is just a sheep - who parrots policy. And if you asked them why I am sure they don't know. I have read some of their goofy response letters, which no doubt was a canned speach from the legal dept. Personally, 1. I don’t think it was any kind of advertising for Goodyear. How many people really bought Goodyear tires because they built, seen, or had a model kit with Goodyear tires. Probably 0. However, it did show support for the hobby and the correct representation of vehicle that sported their tires – which does mean something. 2. I hear from AMT several years back that the licensing would have tacked another .50 cents on a kit. Big deal, I haven’t come across anyone who objected to pay the additional .50 per kit for Goodyear markings. Personally, and I believe someone from AMT stated it wasn't so much the add to a kit, it was the amount that AMT would have to come up with up front for the licensing fee. 3. As far as I am concerned, all the more reason to buy real tires :0 you can have those Goodyears if you want em. " ya want little round black rubber things, or do you want tires?"

I knew a guy who built a bunch of Tamiya kits and never painted them, just polished the bodies and they came out pretty darn good. They might even be better with a coat of future or two.

Thanks guys humm GT1? maybe the yellow GT2 you are thinking of I don't have a completed GT1 yet. or are you talking in the back ground... that's another sorted story, 80% built at one time and took her down to about 20% it's got issues. I am having a tire issue with the Cobra though. It was a King Cobra drag kit so it came with rear drag slicks. I am having a hard time finding any other tires that fit on those kit rims. Next up is a Aotake Nova. It's a turd but I am seeing what I can do with it.

A Long Time Wish For Many Comes True
CAL replied to CAL's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I guess better late than never.... It sounds like IRL is absorbing CART and it will be a IRL formula car. The engine supplier and chassis supplier is offering free engine and chassis leasess to the former CART teams. The schedule maybe up in the air, and this is all tenative as the official announcement hasn't been made yet. I guess we will see if it's managed well enough to stay afloat. Maybe the could take some lessons from ALMS, DPT, and Grand Am. -
I agree with rob. Cheers

Too bad I'm not the one with the problem nor the one adding gas to a fire

all I did was answer a question to the best of my knowledge. But a whole lot more could be said about who slandered who, who discredited who, who lied and who didn't and who's honest and who isn't, but I think the point has been made and clear enough for anyone with the IQ above room temp to figure it out. It doen't take a genius or someone with a business degree to put it together.

A Long Time Wish For Many Comes True

More races, more cars, and hopefully a stronger series. On a side note, this left Paul Tracy out in the cold without a ride for the time being, when it was announced that his current car owner would not race in the 2008 season - maybe in 2009 -
Making progress: Got the chassis built and painted. Got the engine built and painted. Got the interior built and painted. To a point now where I can start adding the finer details and I'll be on the home stretch.

here is some of them anyway.

It was listed at a couple different auctions at different times and as a matter of public record that is how it was listed.
