You are welcome. household bulbs are closest to tungsten, but are not regluated, controlled and frosting and such can all effect color temp. But yes, get some regular bulbs and manual WB and see where your are.

The "H" is for "daylight" fluorecent bulbs

Nice, I agree, on of the best graphics on a car yet. I have a clearview one, I haven't decided though, just paint it or leave it clear.

Yeah, it looks like a WB issue. Cannon says you cannot produce natrual color with Auto WB. Cannon has always been a little more WB sensitive than other cameras. You may need to set WB for the light you are using IE tungstun or Fluorecent, and see if you get the results you desire. The best thing would probable get a balance card use custom setting on WB and WB on a WB card. In otherwords, the camera needs to be told here this is pure white so use this as a white baseline, but you have to manually set it up. Then, you just need to WB everytime you shoot or set up a custom preset fo WB wherever you are shooting, if you are using the same set up often. The reason why the background is changing is your shot is changing. AWB is using the aggregate composition of the shot to adjust WB. It doesn't know your background is white so it using the background the object and quesstimate light source color temp and coming up with an average WB setting depending on what is all in the frame. on a side note. Red is the most difficult color for a digital camera to process correctly. It just has to do with the light sensor technology in digi cams. Another thing I notice is your light choice. Halogen light is a complicated light source to color balance to. First it's not a typical color temp like light day light or tungsten. Also Halogen color temp changes slightly with wattage and distance. Xenon would be a better choice, Tungsten would be a good choice, even the cool blues and greens of Fluorecent would be an easier light to work with than Halogen. HTH

Yeah, Kimi did make some typical Kimi moves but lost it a few times. However, I don't think any of the Ferraris crashed out. They just quit running, which is abnormal for Ferrari. It seems to be a FPR problem... Some teams said their cars never even fired when they installed the new Microsoft/Mclaren ECU.

I do have a degree in film. If you post some troublesome shots I might be able to id your problem

I don't know, they gave the Corvette team some coverage. I think the big problem there is not much interest. I mean who are they racing against. They are not strong enough to win overall, and they don't have any competition in class. What more is there to say about it? Yeah, they didn't really say anything about the Ford GT until it crashed out. It was nice to see the Aston back, but I think it was more of a LM trial. Yes, Rodger had been jinxed at Sebring. I am sure he can sleep easier with that monkey off his back. I wonder if Acura will be able to battle the P-cars. Dyson Porsche ran real strong, too. It good to see Porsche on top again. They didn't do so well at Daytona, beaten by Mazda.

yup I found the same thing: The hood sits too low into the body. I used a little strip plastic to build it up. I thought about sanding the body like you did, but I was afraid of flattening out the top of the body too much. I did build some prototype side vents that I didn't use I the one I built but plan on using them on a future build, along with opening doors and trunk I also found that when it comes to the radiator and shroud it is better to glue the shroud in first then the expansion tank then the radiator. Everything lines up better, other wise there is a tendency to get gaps around the shroud and if you don’t put the assembly in at just the right angle a whole bunch of other problems creep up: The body doesn’t want to fit on the chassis right; it doesn’t like to sit all the way down where is should. I also had to modify the shroud so it fit flush around the expansion tank part. Then glue the lower radiator hose on the water pump end and align it to the lower rad mount. You will see what I am talking about when you get that far. Otherwise it is total opposite of the instructions. Couple other small problem areas: Front suspension if you don't get it in just right it will through off the location of the wheels and the won't be centered in the wheel opening. I built mine stright up but the wheels sit a little too far back in the wheel opening. I can see two solutions: 1 is tip the assembly forward a touch when building. Or 2 move the whole assembly forwards, which isn't easy to do. The rear there isn't much play, and there is none in the body. However the rear wheels centered up just fine. The only problem in the rear was the upper A-arm bolts hit the interior tub so it wouldn't sit flat on the chassis, which in turn pushed the body up. I just ended up filling them off and everything fell flat into place. I guess I could have removed the tub stops in the body for more adjustment in the tub but then the back of the tub was almost flush with the cockpit opening, which didn't look right. HTH

Thanks, it's just Tamiya Italian Red with Future over it.

I'll be keeping an eye on this one. That was really the only major lacking thing about the kit: no wheel wells. I'll be doing a few more. Overall, a fun kit to build.

thanks, There is something sexy about a 427 Cobra. I got to drive one once, driving one is a whole other experience. I am still waiting on my KM decals, though.

Need Help Withe Future Floor Polish
CAL replied to stanleymsn's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
Future is very thin and runs easy, but it's not the end of the world. Future sands easy and the more coats the less runs. Also when shooting it what looks like terrible runs will level out after it's dry. They ones the don't I just sand smooth and reshoot. -
I thought it was just me hopfully they will have that fixed when they come back. how annoying 12 hrs of Sebring interupted for Bristiol. Yeah, looks interesting for sure. However, if you seen the F1 practice that should prove to be just as interesting.

Looks nice... humh but maybe not extended far enough.

Yeah, that's why I don't like to over do the research. I get to the point of no way possible to build the model with TOO much information. Somethings I would have been better off not knowing because there is no way that's happening in 1/25/24 scale.

Air Brushing
CAL replied to Semi Trailer Mechanic's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Ya just have to jump in. There isn't a whole lot to screw up break or distroy that cannot be easily fixed. I used to repair lots of brushes, but I have only seen one beyond repair, save for all the Azteks I junked, and it wasn't the brush. It was the guy opperating it. He shouldn't have been let loose on the streets much less with an airbrush. EVERTHING was broken completely or damaged on his Badger 150. -
Hasegawa Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa Is Here!

Search me, I was wondering myself. -
I am with Darin on references, as well. It's a never ending search. Sometimes I will go looking for pics so I have them when I do get around to building the model. But it never seems to fail that in the middle of a build I am searching for a pic I don't have and or can't find.

been there done that.
